I roast my own coffee, so I like to keep the roasted beans in an air tight canister. These zwilling contianers are great. I vacuum out the air and the beans stay fresher longer. The first three days after roasting, the beans release some gas, so the canister has to be vacuum sealed each day during that initial period, but otherwise it’s airtight. I took one star off because I have received one canister in this size (out of 4) that leaks. I’ve also had that problem with another larger size. I had already used the defective ones so I didn’t return them. I suggest that when you get these, vacuum seal them empty and check the next day to see it they leak. If they do, return them. ... show more

    • Love the entire system, but these are very small and the their shape/ proportions is a bit odd.

I love the idea behind the Zwilling Fresh n Save system, and in general am very happy with it, but the proportions of these small storage containers is a bit odd. They are very good little containers. However, they are very small and although the depth is OK the width is quite narrow, too narrow. I’m not sure what to use them for! Lol. I originally bought them for cold cuts and cheeses, but they are too narrow for that. The Medium containers are more practical for me. But other than that I do recommend them. ... show more

I originally gave this item a bad review. It is only while searching for so.e storage containers that I came across another zwilling container but with a vacuum pump. Of course, I attempted to use my current hand help pump and it worked. The people responsible for writing the description should have mentioned that it needs a pump or that rhe pump is sold separately. I am now happy to give a great review ... show more

I read other reviews about the seals not keeping. I realized that when this happened it was because I overfilled the container. These are easy to clean, and really do keep the food fresh for a long, long time. High price that pays for itself over time. Worth the investment

    • Great product that does what it is designed to do

I really like these. The rechargeable vacuum pump is necessary (for properly sealing) as the vacuum pump removes all of the unwanted air that can speed up the degradation of the stored product. Keeps my sauces and other foods fresh for well over a week. It could keep foods longer, but I wouldn't know because I normally have consumed my fresh herbs and spices within 7 or 9 days. Word of caution: Check the rubber seals after they have been washed and stored up for a while with the lid sealed! I found that THROUGH USER ERROR there may be some mold growth if there is any hint of moisture or food residue that remains after cleaning. To lessen the likelihood of this happening just know that the seals can be removed to better clean the lid, so make sure you do that. I then run them through a regular cycle in the dishwasher on the top rack. Before reassembling the seal to the lid, make sure it is COMPLETELY DRY and free from residue of any kind. Doing so will make a world of difference. You should then be able to store them without finding any nasty surprises. The seals are of good quality because the mold I found wiped off clean and did not cause any damage to the seal. ... show more

I love these containers. The problem is many of them don’t stay sealed. Test them before they return expires! I’ve had to send back about one out of every three or four that I’ve ordered. I recommend sealing it as soon as it arrives and check it a few days later to see if it is still sealed.
