I was very pleasantly surprised by how thoroughly this Zum laundry soap cleans laundry. It has a nice scent but isn’t overpowering. Towels ann bed sheets come out softer than with regular laundry detergent. That’s important to me because I don’t use fabric softener on towels or sheets. Absolutely hands down the best smelling laundry soap ever made since Jesus walked this earth!! It's all natural ingredients including coconut oil, real essential oils frankincense & myrrh successfully used since ancient times AND real baking soda for tough stains. It's pricey but well worth the practical investment in - YOU + YOUR FAMILY. If you want the real deal for clothes that smell so heavenly EVERY time you wear them until you wash them again - THEN BUY THE TWO PACK FOR THE BEST DEAL ON THE PLANET.. I just hope and pray the manufacturers NEVER dilute any part of their ingredients especially the essential oils just to make an extra buck off of a loyal customer following who will be hooked to use this product time and time again because nothing else out there can compare (GAIN synthetic scents pale by comparison and who would want chemicals on their body anyway?!). I wanted an alternative to the commercial smells of laundry detergent, and I also wanted to do something different from unscented. when you use unscented soap, your clothes may or may not smell fresh and clean. My husband has a certain commercial laundry soap that he likes which we use on his clothes but I wanted something different for my own clothes. I decided to try this ZUM in the frankincense and myrrh scent because I buy their bar soap at my local grocery store and have always loved it. When I use the ZUM in the laundry, I can smell it in my house which it can smell a little strong but what I have noticed is only a light scent stays on my cotton clothes and other cotton items which I like. It is just a step up from being unscented. anything like a blanket that may be polyester or some other synthetic blend, the scent does not seem to stay on it. I read an article on someone not liking his mother’s detergent and his wife asked if she can switch because it was making her nauseated. The audacity. So, I had to see what this was for a daughter in law and a spineless son to ask their mom to stop babysitting due to detergent. I bought the patchouli one that was in the article. It smells lovely. It’s faint but smells more than Gain, Tide or Arm & Hammer. I use the Downey scents and still this detergent smells better. It however does not sud like the others. I put a little bit of the gain liquid with it. The detergent lasts a long time. I am ordering another one just to have it when I run out. The only thing was that it was taped and it did leak a little bit but it was full when I received it. I believe they can do a better job when shipping the bottle. I heard better reviews of the patchouli than the lavander. Although target does sell the lavender, I’d prefer the patchouli. I will keep buying more. If anyone knows where else to purchase this besides here or Target-please let me know. Will keep buying! Good luck! ... show more

I have been purchasing Mrs. Meyers detergent since it first became available, but had thought about trying Zum when my favorite Mrs. Meyers fragrance (geranium) was discontinued. Since I am drawn to personal fragrances that are generally classified as earthy, exotic, warm and woodsy, I thought it made sense to have a laundry product that wasn’t floral scented. If you’re also one who is drawn to these earthy fragrance types, rest assured that Zum patchouli will not disappoint! Yes, it’s true that the fragrance lingers lightly after your laundry has been washed and dried. Everything I have laundered thus far (several loads) looks clean and smells just wonderful!
