installation went pretty easily. I knocked off one star because when tightening the handle the bolt started to turn in the framing and I figured I better stop before fully tightening it. Not sure on the quality of it or what would have happened if I had kept tightening. Make sure you unspool it after install and then spool it back up, other wise it won't be tight and when you go to use it you could have issues with whatever your holding coming loose. Stitching looks good and should hold up. Material is probably very UV resistant but I'll be keeping it covered when not in use since it will have the potential to degrade.

Handle bolt stripped out while installing nut. Metal not of good quality in my opinion. Again thats just my opinion as others may have had no problem with their purchase.

When I first opened it up, just looking at it you think this is the toughest hand winch ever. Everything looks overbuilt and the mechanism looks familiar and solid. Installed it for my pontoon boat (original Fulton brand name winch rated at 1600 Lbs.), slight modification for the bolt holes (no problem) then tightening down the lever on the main crank using normal force and I striped the threads (first warning sign there). Oh well attached it to the other crank since everything was installed and attached tightly to the trailer. Worked great getting the boat in the water, getting the boat out caused the internals to give up at bearing points on the housing, causing the gears to have enough clearance to not have contact with each other so now its completely free rotating and useless. Had to bust out the tools to just get the gears to contact so I could get home. At home took a closer look and every pully had huge wiggle room. Returned it immediately so as they say - true here. Don't waste your time on this and the many others that look like this on Amazon, all from the same maker in China.

This is a replacement for my jet ski trailer. It can be used for a small boat as well. This winch has a 1200lb capacity. What is nice is you can use different cables and ropes. If this strap ever breaks or if you need something longer you can switch out to steel cable which takes up less room so you can get more length. This has multiple places on the bottom pre-drilled for mounting. The handle come detached and is simply put into place and tighten down the nut. It has a good feel to the ratcheting movement and is a good winch.

I ordered this winch for my husband's 2000 Tracker fishing boat as the strap on the original winch was looking suspect. My husband was impressed with the quality of this wench. It is definitely heavy duty and well made basic winch. The bolts do not come with this winch so he had to purchase new bolts as the originals were in bad condition. All in all the installation was straight forward and operation is same as the original. This is a good quality heavy duty winch for a good price. A good value for the money.
