We have synthetic turf lawn with a large juniper bush/tree in the middle that provides much needed shade in the area. Unfortunately the juniper drops a lot of dried small needles. We tried using regular rakes which just tosses and breaks the needles (and isn't recommended), and blowers which works somewhat, but isn't very thorough. I will usually just get on my hands and knees and pick up the dried needles by hand. This is a daily chore though. When I saw that there was a specific rake for synthetic turf, I was overjoyed. The product comes in a slender box and there are 3 parts (plastic rake + 2 pieces of the handle). The handle adjusts to different lengths which is very convenient. So as soon as I received it, I put it together (less than a minute) and ran outside to rake those darn needles. Unfortunately, the rake was not more effective than the blower. It mostly chopped up the needles which then embedded in the grass strands. Sigh. It did catch the bigger clumps and I think for regular leaves and other debris it will work fine. The teeth on the rake captured the larger clumps and didn't ruin the turf or the mesh underneath - it just doesn't work for the juniper needles. So I gave it 4 stars because it's a nice quality rake but just didn't work for my specific needs.

I ordered this synthetic turf rake for my patch of artificial grass as you need to use a rake with soft tines or you can damage the turf. It was easy to assemble in a few minutes and the length of the handle makes it comfortable to use without having to bend over. I find it works well on debris removal, much more efficiently than the blower that I have been using. Plus, it lifts the blades upright so the turf looks like new after using. I definitely recommend.

This doesn’t come with instructions but it was simple enough to figure out how to put it together. It is lightweight and adjustable. The plastic handle is okay, wish it was padded. It does what it’s supposed to do. Rakes my artificial grass and the white bristles help to bring up the knap. I am short so I’m pleased that you can make this shorter or longer. It’s a little pricier than some other rakes, but this will last for a long time, so I would recommend you try this rake. I took off one star because of no instructions. Otherwise, I would have given this a five star review.

This rake is lightweight, yet simultaneously capable of taking on big jobs. I like the fact that it has two sides – one side with several white plastic bristles and a second side with a green, wider-spaced plastic rake. It’s marketed for turf, but I use it to remove excess leaves off of the garage floor, etc. Recommended.

I love that this has 2 sides, one for normal raking on my lawn, and the soft, whale teeth-like bristles on the other make this a DREAM for leaves on my porch! Compared to my leaf blower, i'll use this any day. It's telescopic so my hubby can us it for him and i can shorten it for me! very light and easy to handle!

This rake is quite awesome if you have artificial grass or turf. It helps rake your turf, but does take a lot of effort. The bristles brush through the artificial grass and does a great job from a brushing perspective. It makes it feel like the turf is new again. When you walk on it you can see your footprint like the new carpet feel. However, with respect to raking all the falling and debris, it takes LOTS of raking over and over again. It pulls the debris that's gone down into the turf and bouces it out, but doesn't fully sweep it where you want it to go. You can get the same effect using a broom. It's just that this rake gets deeper. I would think this raking would be best used in conjunction with vacuuming afterwards. The rake is made of high quality products and feels quite sturdy. The handle length can be adjusted. I'll be using this often in hopes the process will get easier.

The media could not be loaded. One side is stiffer than a metal rake and the other is like thin plastic bristles that are stiff to brush the surface. What I like is its sturdy and light weight. If you use short brush strokes it does a good job at cleaning artificial turf and doesn’t disturb the infill sand at all. The small bristles side unfortunately springs back and this kicks small rocks all over the place which makes it less efficient at removing small pebbles. It works okay with mulch and leaves and if doing anything large then you should switch to the green plastic rake side which would probably be good for sand. Reminds me of a sand rake at the bunkers of a golf course. It does the job, but takes multiple passes so it sort of works. Then again, the metal rakes I have are the same way.

The media could not be loaded. This turf rake works pretty well to remove most of the tree debris, like full leaves & 'helicopters'. Once dried leaves start breaking up, there's lots of smaller debris that this rake (and any rake) will miss. Still, it's better than bring out the leaf blower every time. Tip: it rakes wet leaves better than bone dry leaves; creates less breakage.
