I was looking at my 25 year old melamine mixing bowls. They were dull and stained, scratched and very worn. All the rubber rings were long gone from the bottoms. Melamine is not ideal for some more advanced applications, like beating egg whites or any time you need absolute grease-free bowls. In my search, I did not want any plastic components but I did want lids. And I was hoping for lids that provided an airtight seal for storage. THIS IS IT!!! I cannot tell you how impressed I am with the Ziruma bowls. The very first thing you will notice is the weight and sturdiness of the bowls. The exteriors are brushed stainless with the silicone non-slip bottoms. The next thing is the mirror finish on the interior. Edges are smooth and the construction is very high quality. They nest well together without fear of scratching because of the silicone bottoms, which really are non-skid. The bottoms are not just a ring glued into a slot. They are PART of the exterior of the bowl. They do not come off! But let's talk about those lids! WOW factor!! Beautiful clear glass with silicone seals are *really and truly* airtight! You get that satisfying hiss that lets you know that there are no leaks! Beautiful clear glass with silicone seals are totally inert. They will not retain or transmit flavors. They are a pleasure to use. The size of each bowl is very useful. I hand wash just about everything but I understand that the bowls and lids are dishwasher safe. My only gripe (and it's a small one) is that the lids are slightly bulky because they dont nest into each other like the bowls. Not worth knocking off a star because of how much I love these bowls. I am not a professional cook, but I am very versatile and have spent a lifetime of learning in the kitchen. I love to cook and bake and when my egg whites were not beating up well, I found out why....melamine! OK so the price point is a little high and I was hesitant. But after reading some reviews and thinking about how much I use mixing bowls, I took the plunge. ABSOLUTELY NO REGRETS!! I've told all my friends and relatives about this set. Even the very expensive brands like Viking and Cuisinart cannot hold a candle to these mixing bowls. Kudos to Ziruma! You will also be impressed with how they are packaged. NOTHING was spared. The bowls and the lids are all individually wrapped in tissue and packed carefully. I was impressed from the moment I received them to the moment I began using them. Incredible! I highly recommend!!! If I could give ten stars, I would! **********

I love everything there is to love about mixing bowls. Wash-ability, size options, the weight, stainless, rubber grip on the buttons, fair price, tempered glass lids make it easy to see what’s inside. If you are like me, an ‘out of sight, out of mind’ kind of person, the see-through lids are a really great feature!

I never leave reviews. But I knew as soon as I received and opened my box of ziruma mixing bowls, I wanted to tell everyone about them. I love the thought of saving money on things, but when you are regularly using, touching, seeing and cleaning items in your kitchen it brings a satisfying peace to really enjoy thst simple but effective daily experience. I was looking at some mixing bowls that also claimed to be non toxic, but when I realized the brand Umite Chef was advertised on each one, I really felt the OCD cringe of reading that nonsensical and ridiculous name every time I went to use them. Unite Chef? Its like the Stanley style my mom got one year that had the brand name Pick Bag on it......I cant do that. Quality is long lasting and sustainable. I love everything about my ziruma bowls! The box, the booklet inside, the cute and informational way they tell about their product and the beauty and quality of them. The shiny metal, silicone bases for stability and the best part..the individually wrapped glass and silicone lids to cover each bowl. They seal on so well for storing food in the fridge. I truly dont think anyone could be disappointed with this purchase. Im in love. Thank you Ziruma!

I bought these on the recommendation of Warren Phillips, aka Non-Toxic Dad, because he's set me on the path of ridding as much of the toxins from my household as I possibly can. I started in the kitchen, replacing plastic cooking utensils with solid wood, plastic mixing bowls for stainless steel, the coffee maker with an insulated stainless steel French press, etc. I purchased these mixing bowls around Black Friday and I am not disappointed! They're very well made and heavy duty with glass lids for each bowl (that actually fit! and are dishwasher-friendly). The bowls come in all the sizes I need and also have a non-slip base which I love. You might think twice because of their price tag when not on sale, but don't. Buy them! They are worth every penny, I promise.

These are PERFECT bowls - no deadly plastic, the lids create an air-tight seal to keep food fresher longer, they have an anti-skid bottom, glass lid to see what's inside, dishwasher safe - just perfect. We Americans are consuming WAY too much plastic, and every bottle we drink from, every plastic bowl, every plastic utensil - ALL this microbeads are winding up in our body, our water, our land. Human brains have an immense amount of residual plastic particulate matter, and every step we take to move away from plastic storage helps our brains, our bodies, our planet. Love these bowls!

These bowls have a nonslip bottom, clear glass lids for showcasing the bowls’ contents, and a tight silicone seal. The largest one also consumes less space in the refrigerator than wide mixing bowls that hold the same amount of food, allowing me to fit more items into my refrigerator. I also like that the bowls easily fit inside each other for simple cabinet storage. I do wish that this set had come with a wide bowl, too, because I can’t easily mix big salads in the large Ziruma bowl, which is meant for food storage more than for mixing. I had to separately buy a wide, glass mixing bowl, which I will use before transferring mixed food into the Ziruma bowls for refrigeration. Altogether, these are a great, non-toxic alternative to plastic bowls, which is why I bought them. Now I don’t have to worry about my bowls leaching microplastics and chemicals during dishwasher cycles or usage with mixing spoons.
