I put these vertical slats on top of my bed’s existing hortizonal slats that were spaced too far apart. Not sure how sturdy these would be on their own, but it worked perfectly for my setup and gave the extra mattress support that I needed.

I bought a very expensive king size Purple Mattress and a sturdy but cheaper bed frame. The slats on the bed frame are narrow and spaced about 6 inches apart. I felt like i was falling to the ground and was at risk of voiding my warranty on the mattress. A added these slats under the mattress and its perfect. The mattress now feels firmer and supported and I'm sleeping great. I like they are wrapped in fabric which keeps them somewhat in line. ... show more

I have a metal king base with the wires for my medium to firm new memory foam mattress. It was just too soft for my aging hips. I had to come up with an alternative for firmness.
