This is my second Zinus Swirl topper and I could not be happier. We had the first one for 10 years and it performed beautifully. We recently changed our mattress after 20 years so I decided to purchase a new topper. and repurposed the old one to a guest bed. It still has plenty of support and softness left in it. This is well and truly the best topper I have found and I have tried a lot of them. As for it's cooling effect I do think it helps. I recently purchased the Zinus 2 Inch Swirl Gel Cooling Memory Foam Mattress Topper in hopes of enhancing the comfort and coolness of my bed. However, my experience with this product has left me somewhat disappointed. The topper's main selling point is its cooling gel-infused memory foam, which is designed to promote airflow and dissipate heat, providing a comfortable and cool sleeping environment. Unfortunately, the cooling effect fell short of my expectations. While there was a slight improvement in airflow, it was not significant enough to make a noticeable difference in temperature regulation throughout the night. The 2-inch layer of supportive memory foam swirled with cooling gel offers decent comfort, but it fails to deliver a truly "cooling embrace." Despite fitting under standard or deep pocket fitted sheets, the overall cooling sensation was underwhelming. I literally had this sitting still boxed up for TWO years. I finally gotten around to using it, I figured since it's been in a box for multiple years it wouldn't expand... I was WRONG! I let it sit and expand for 8 days. Didn't smell like the others normally do, expanded fully. It is firm but plush if that makes sense, nice and sturdy and GREAT to sleep on. I live in Phoenix it's the summer time currently and it doesn't leave me sweating at night like my old mattress topper I bought from Target did. PLEASE NOTE- First paragraph is about the twin size I ordered January 2023 which got an enthusiastic 5 stars and an update review for exact (supposedly) pad in King February 2023: 1 month ago- "I ordered this to use for 3 weeks at my time share where the king size mattresses have always KILLED my shoulders and hips. Since I only needed it for my side of the bed, I ordered the twin and it was PERFECT! This pad is AMAZING and exactly what I needed to sleep well and enjoy my vacation. I actually got home last night and didn't sleep nearly as well without it, even though I have a similar 3" foam topper already that was more expensive. I guess I will have to buy a king size one for home!" OK- so, update. King pad I ordered for home in much colder weather wasn't ANYTHING like twin size I ordered down south, except for similar packaging-although the SUPER thick plastic outer layer was missing and also the king pad did not have the same wet/moist feel that the twin pad had at unpacking. I unwrapped the packaging and couldn't wait to get it out so it had time to fluff up so I could sleep! It really didn't look good, but figured it was the King in the same box as the Twin and hoped for the best. Five days later, it still looks and feels like a giant potato chip. I got the 1.5 inch. I needed something more besides a sheet between myself and the plastic mattress cover, as the cover was too hot. Not only did it fix the sweating problem, it is like a whole new bed! This topper is very comfortable and I definitely recommend.
