Great side cutter, all steel inner workings with a plastic cover. Took a little work to get it mounted but the directions were very good. Functions very well, stitches and cuts as expected, but it does takes a little practice. Very happy with the results and a great value at $10.

I had a serger but it quit working. I didn't use it enough to justify buying a new one. I found this and I love it. It works exactly as I hoped it would. It was easy to set up and use after watching a utube video on it.

    • Didn't fit the machine they said it would
I ordered this to fit my Necchi sewing machine, but the little claw like arm that goes around the needle holder was too small to fit around it. Luckily I have a Singer sewing machine that I don't use often, so I tried it on that machine and it fit great. I did have to look up a video on how to install it. Once I got it on the machine correctly, I tested it. And I have to say that it actually works pretty well at cutting the excess material. I've decided to keep it and just leave it on the Singer machine, that way I can sew on one machine and then use the serger attachment on the other machine. It is not hard to install, just takes some maneuvering to get it on there correctly. I took off 2 stars just because it didn't fit the machine they said it would. ... show more

    • Doesn't cut
Bought this for my Brother HC1850. Installation was easy, but when I went to actually use it for the seam edge, it didn't cut anything. I watched and the cutter moves as expected. It presses down properly on the fabric, but there's no cutting. I'm unsure why, the pressure seems fine, and my machine is supposedly compatible, but for some reason, it doesn't cut through the fabric. Either the blade is dull or it's missing some additional instructions, which are useless other than the installation steps. Will definitely be returning. I think I'll try the Singer one next, and if that doesn't work, then it may actually be my machine. But from the other reviews, it's not just me. Do not recommend this item. ... show more
