These are labeled for bible highlighting personally I wouldn't use these for that unless you were doing bible journaling then these would be awesome. The thin paper that scriptures are made from might rip. Also, they stay easily transferable when they are just applied. Meaning would easily transfer onto the opposite pages of scripture and smudge easily. You can manipulate these after applied with your fingers. I would defiantly NOT recommend these for bible highlighting. For mixed media art these are AMAZING!!!! They are nice and creamy. You can blend them with your fingers, or a blending stump, they mix with water and flow well the colors are nice. I've done some really neat things with them I really look forward to getting more. ... show more

I love working with these in my art journals. The colors are gorgeous and they dilute and spread so well with water. You can do all the same techniques with these as with Gelatos, but I love how slim the handles are. My only complaint is that they wear down pretty quickly which makes me hesitant to use them very often as my favorite colors are already almost gone. And yet that very buttery smoothness is what makes them so appealing. I can see them being very useful as actual highlighters for bible study or marking textbooks as all the colors are really sheer and you can get fine lines from them. Work like gel crayons for coloring book. Not a highlighter due to opaque colour. Purchased for the Art Nouveau color palette. No color names on gel stick so 4 stars instead of 5. Slight crumbling, smearable and works with brush to create backgrounds in coloring books. The muted colours are hard to find in other gel crayons sets. I am disappointed in this purchase. The material cakes on to the pages of various books. They are a very similar consistency of a lipstick produce. Colors are also very dark to be beneficial as a highlighter.

Not sure why they are labeled or marketed as “bible gel highlighters” they are crayons, super cool and don’t smudge at all on sketchbook paper, I definitely would not say they are gel or highlighters. They are exactly what I was hoping for so if you want a pastel crayon set these are for you they are very soft so I wouldn’t get them for kids because they would smash them into the paper too easily but great for my use ... show more

Beautiful colors, some a little different than shown but I understand color problems with phones. They are nice and smooth and pretty; however the media used actually covers the words that you are trying to highlight. So the darker shades are not able to be used as highlighters... And they show through on thinner pages. ... show more
