I do a lot of modeling, both auto kits and model railroading. In the past, I've used "chrome" paint, that although is pretty good, still not quite the same as chrome-plated parts. So I was pretty skeptical on this pen but thought I would obtain to see how it worked. After shaking the pen vigorously for a few minutes, as per instructions, I then pressed the pen against a scrap piece of plastic. I found that I had to "vent" it for quite some time which is pressing the pen tip up and down against the part to get the liquid to wick with the pen tip. Once the fluid started flowing it was simply a matter of drawing, just like using a pen. I dries pretty quick, and the chrome looks very close to chrome. In covering a small 1/4" wide surface, it worked pretty good. The chrome does look like chrome however, if set next to a plated part, still no comparison. The liquid chrome left some minor bubbles or spots that gave my test piece a resemblance closer to wrinkled chrome rather than a mirror finish, but was high-gloss and pretty shiny luster. Still, for many modeling applications, the finish will be more than acceptable. I also applied this to the inside surface of a headlight housing on a model railroad engine, which increased the brightness significantly. Likewise, applying a small drop on the headlight of vehicles and trucks on my model railroad worked perfect to look like real headlights. My wife likes to use the pen to write on black stationary to create very classy cards and invitations. Although I obtained these for free to test, my opinion is this is a great product reasonably priced. I would not hesitate to purchase, and once my pens have run out, intend to do so. ... show more

These silver paint pens are a blast to make doodles and line art with! While they are advertised for smooth surfaces and we look forward to decorating glass ornaments in Dec, the main thing we wanted to try these for was on card stock and it worked like a dream! Perfect for lunchbox notes, love notes, gift tags, bookmarks.... There is a good amount of silver/chrome paint inside these, and the tips are well made. The fine point makes creating smallish words and details very possible. They work cleanly. Didn't experience any blobs or ink problems while using. Paint pens need to be reprimed occasionally while using and this is normal, but these ones didn't need it as often as others I have used in the past. (Maybe that is because of the fine tip?) They did take a while to prime so just stick with it and it will work. No fumes experienced when using these. At the 12.99 price point for three chrome paint markers this is a super value. These liquid chrome pens are awesome. There is so many different ways to use them and they have worked great on all types of paper I’ve tried them on. These are especially good if you’re drawing a mirror lol, or want to put a reflection on something in a drawing. I did find it a bit difficult to keep having to shake them and press the tip down. I didn't know what I was doing at first cause paint pen is not as simple as paint marker. In other words, as I was pumping or pressing/releasing it to get the ink going, I destroyed the white tip which, as it turns out, is the actual tip that the ink comes out of. I tried to remove it thinking it was some kind of protector since pumping it wasn't bringing any paint forward. Welllll the thing is, I just needed more patience. Luckily it came with two and as you can see, the second one worked much better! The color is so pretty. I got the marker version too which is on the left side of the last picture. The ink flows smoothly and it literally is like liquid chrome. No better way to say it. The only thing I'd say is that it's obv not hard to break the tip. I didn't take a hammer to it I just messed with it a bit and it bent like in the first picture. So be gentle! Thanks for reading. ... show more

These markers are so wonderful, they will give many projects extra metal-like shine such as stars and other things if you plan to use them for adult color books, drawing, writing, crafting, and other ideas. They only take a minute to prep for first-time use, give it a good shake for at least 20-30 seconds, with the tip up press the lid to the tip to de-gas it a couple of times, then press the tip down onto scrap paper multiple times until you see ink flow and scribble around to make sure there is a steady flow. You're ready to use on a variety of paper crafts and paint projects. The shine is incredible and looks more realistic than many of the silver pens and paints I have used in the past. I am super impressed. It will smear if you don't let it dry long enough. Give it some time to dry. ... show more

I LOVE this pen. I do acrylic crafts, and struggle to find pens that will write on acrylic. This pen is glorious for that application. It covers well, and doesn’t run. The color is nice and opaque too. I wish I had this pen in every color.

I love to use metallic paint markers for accenting the edges of resin trays and coasters. These particular markers have the tiniest tip I have ever seen! Now I can accent more delicate pieces like jewelry. The paint really does look like liquid chrome. It is a little difficult to get the juice flowing, so have patience when priming the marker for first use and be extra gentle with the tip as it is very easy to damage. ... show more
