The pens should be vented before you use them the first time. The box explains how. Then a couple presses on a paper scrap will get the paint started to come into the tip. This does give a nice thin line with practice. I needed something to make the ropes on a ship and this worked perfectly. Easy to use, comes with easy to understand directions, the ink is super shiny like they say, and for what these are the price was a little lower than others I've seen with lower ratings. I give a 5 star ranking because you aren't going to find better for less. They do a great job.

The pen is great! The paint flows smoothly, consistently, and hasnt clogged. The nib hasnt worn down or freyed. Ive used it alot and didnt expect it to last this long. Im buying more. It would be even better in a smaller nib for extremely finr detailing. A .3mm or .5mm in silver would be fantastic.

If the surface is smooth it is as close as you can get to chrome. If a put rough not as nice. It shines really nice and it paints|writes on easy, dries fast too.

I have dozens of colored acrylic "gems" that are missing some of the silver backing making them useless. I'm so glad I didn't throw them away and got the idea to search for chrome paint. Even better, I found chrome paint in a pen. I should've paid more attention as the ultra fine tips makes it more difficult to paint the bottoms of the gems but the result is wonderful and the cost of the pens more than makes up for the money saved by not having to buy more of the gems. I can't really complain that I missed these were both ultra fine tips because I have the silver chrome is so much brighter and prettier than regular "silver" paint pens for writing. These liquid chrome pens are wonderful for model makers, crafters as well as gorgeous just for writing. They do take a little bit of priming before each use to get the paint flowing but all you are doing is pressing the tip down repeatedly on a separate piece of paper and then you're good to go.
