So... basically if you let this thing run down to zero, or not charge it regularly it goes on a self protection mode, where it won't charge. The silly thing is the flash light works but won't power anything, charge says zero. I also can't find in the manual how to turn off the self protection mode, just that it exists. ... show more

To charge from 1 bars to full charge it took over 7 hours. The unit came with 2 bars of charge. It took about 4-5 hours to charge from there to full charge. The charger is standard 12 volt wall wart which only puts out 12 volt at 2.4 amp switching power supply. That means 28 watt output from the charger. To charge 300Watt-hour battery it should take about 10 hours from complete ly dischanrged state. I have used it, and it seems to be cheap solution for providing light, usb power. I have not tried 110VAC output, but that was not what this unit was purchased for. It provides enough power to USB devices. ... show more

this is the only brand of portable generators I'd use, My first was a 160 (yes that long ago) and I still use it for power outage ) got this for neighbor and easily put directions so she can use e it to read by. I have. low voltage lamp with a yellow bulb in now for bugs. It is a few $'s more but when something lasts "forever " its week worth it, don't leave it out in the rain and keep it charged up You wont regret it. ... show more
