I am very pleased with this impact vest. I have not tested the boyancy, but am sure it is fine. Used it today for wing surfing. I believe it will go a good job protecting my from my foil in a spill. As with many vests, it does run small. I am 5'7", 208# and usually take an x large t-shirt/sweatshirt. I ordered an XXL and it fits, but does not have any extra. It is comfortable and a GREAT value. Little tough to get in and out of as it side-zips and -buckles, but that overhead approach is part of makes it secure and comfortable in and out of the water. I am a retired person who occasionally go to a protected beach to bathe. I use this lifejacket to swim out to about 150 meters from shore and just wade about taking in the nature surroundings, soul therapy. The lifejacket is comfortable, lightweight, easily fitted, very buoyant and I feel very safe wearing it in the deep waters. Highly recommended. ... show more

Will NOT protect you against drowning. This “life” jacket will NOT SAVE YOUR LIFE. The people supervising you are responsible for that. You may as well purchase an old ugly and bulky orange life vest. Also you must be a tall and skinny person to use as the manufacturer directs it. It looks cool, however it’s not practical.
