I bought this for my 8 year old stepson for Christmas. He had become really interested in music because he had seen me play my bass and guitar, and even expressed interest in playing mine. So naturally I wanted to get him one for Christmas. It’s a decent value for its price, about what you’d expect. It sounds twangy and the little 5w amp is very crackly. But if you’re not sure if a kid will stick with guitar this is a decent buy. It’s enough for them to learn the basics of guitar and whether or not they like playing enough to stick with it. It might even make a decent mod guitar for a MUCH smaller guitar player. Overall, it is not a bad buy for someone in my situation or something similar. The amplifier did not work well or there was a short in the chord. The strings on the guitar would not stay in tune. I tuned by ear and electronically. Guitar sounded awful. I tried this for 3 days as I know sometimes strings have to stretch for their first use! I had to pay $29.00 to return ship this product. Please don’t buy unless they can replace a faulty product without extra expense to the customer. ... show more

The guitar and amp work well. The cord that links the guitar to the amp was faulty right out of the box. Bought some Ernie Ball cords and it works well. I would say it is worth the money but I wish they would put a better cord in the kit.

Bought this for my 5 year old granddaughter who wanted a 'rock n roll" guitar for Christmas. She was all smiles when she got it. It's size fits her perfectly. I would recommend it.
