I LOVE this. I ordered it to replace my old one, which broke because the top section was made of glass. This one seems to be all good quality plastic, so I’m not worried about a repeat. It’s adorable, for one thing. I don’t know if this is an everyone thing, or a “me and five year olds” thing, but I love pressing the button and watching my tea drain into the cup at the perfect steeping time and secretly feeling a little like a tea chemist(/mad scientist). The best thing about this is how easy it is to steep things perfectly. I’ve had tea containers before that had strainers in them, and that’s great depending on what kind of tea you’re having, but it’s annoying to have to take out and get rid of the leaves at the right moment, or find somewhere to keep them if you want to re-steep later. This is AMAZING for that. Put your leaves in the top, add hot water, wait exact length of time, push button… then you have your perfect tea in bottom cup, and you leave the leaves in the top until you’re ready to repeat for the next cup. I use this mostly for pu-erh tea and it’s perfect, seriously so easy. A great size for it too, especially given how many steeps you can do of the same leaves. If I’m making chai tea or something this wouldn’t be my go-to, because I want a bigger mug to mix milk etc. in, and I want more to drink longer. It’s not meant to be an insulated container for tea, so don’t expect anything like that. You’re making a small cup at a time, as you want to drink it. The base cup is a completely normal cup in that regard, though I suppose it loses heat a little faster than your standard mug because there’s less in it, so more surface area vs substance to lose heat from. I’ve never had an issue with tea cooking before I drink it. It’s pretty easy to clean, too. Just rinse it carefully after use and you’re not going to end up needing much more. I’d suggest removing the metal strainer and rinsing under the parts where it’s held in- I think that’s what would be hardest to deal with, if you let mold get started there. ... show more

This is a very neat device. It does just as it says and it's great quality. All the edges are smooth not sharp or half assed. The silicone is nice and the whole thing comes apart for easy cleaning. The water drains into the cup perfectly and the double wall keeps it it from being too hot to touch. Love the color. The carry case is very nice and good quality as well. Perfect for work. This product does work. However the bottom part doesn't actually connect to the lid so in other words, if you lift from the top the bottom will stay where it is. So it's kind of hard to put in the travel case with any kind of liquid in it, because uou have to hold it together while putting it in the case. Also the mechanism that holds the liquid in the upper chamber is gravity based, so if you lay it on its side it will leak into the lower chamber. It works great if you use it on a counter top and don't move it until its ready to drink. Not good for travel though, which is what I wanted it for. ... show more

I've been searching for a worthy travel gong fu tea set for a while. I've tried a few styles and found them all to be lacking in either portability, durability, or share-ability (not good for more than one person). This tea maker ticks ALL the boxes. Compact: This fits easily in a 6L fanny pack along side a compact camera, and other items for travel. Durable: It's made of a durable plastic that retains heat well and prevents you burning yourself. If you've ever used a gaiwan, you know how easy it can be to burn yourself... The release mechanic is made of rubber and steel and can be easily taken apart for cleaning.The top section is also removable for easy cleaning. Shareable: The bottom section of this can act either cup for solo use, or a gong dao bei (justice cup) for sharing with others. You can also fit at least two small tea cups inside, and depending on how small or shape of the cups, you could fit perhaps up to 4. I would recommend this tea maker to anyone who wants high quality gong fu tea while away from home. The ONLY thing I can think of to make this a better product would be to add a bit of grip on the top lid. It can be just a little slippery when trying to remove it. ... show more

I was slightly disappointed at first because I figured because it said “brew” in the details it would come with a charger or something and there aren’t any directions.. but it’s the most adorable! I like the look of it at first, and when I started using it, it was fine and then it started leaking which lead to a spill all over my desk at work. Ughh not worth $32.00 that’s for sure. Beings though is all plastic and rubber. With that said, I ended up having to buy a bottle infuser which I love. Please lower your price on this cheap product, we’re dealing with a pandemic and it’s just not worth thirty something dollars. That is a total rip off. DO NOT BUT THIS PRODUCT FOR REAL USE MAYBE FOR YOUR KIDS TO PLAY WITH IN THE TUB. Still too expensive ... show more

My oldest daughter loves tea. I’m not fond of it myself. However, if you have any tea lover’s you love, this product works great! She has to be in the office three times a week. And yes, we are talking about properly made tea, the exact time and right temp to add the water to the loose tea leaves depending upon all the other factors. (Tea lovers, I’m really trying here….I drink dark roast coffee.) However, this product works great! She’s able to put everything together in a short amount of time. It holds it the proper tea temp for five hours, can handle loose tea particles through the strainer. Not difficult to clean. Totally worth it for the person you love who loves tea! ... show more
