The package came well wrapped and each egg is individually wrapped. There were no damages to the box or inside contents. It arrived so fast, I was very impressed. This was very fun activity for my kid to do over a span of a few days. My son was 3 so would loose interest after 2 eggs which took about 20-30 min per egg which was a score to keep him occupied that long! I would stick to the age range if you want them to do it by themselves cuz as the adult it took me 10 min to carve open. I tried both the dry and wet way as described in the instructions and honestly, I did not see much of a difference except a different mess. The fastest way to open I found was to carve a deep line around it and you find where the dino is quickly or finally be able to break in half. Even though my son was younger, he LOVED it and looked forward to the 2 eggs we opened every day. Cons: We only got 11 out of the 12 dinosaurs. One egg was completely empty. So that was kind of a bummer but honestly my kid and I did not care since we were in it for the digging instead of the dinosaur figures themselves. It is rather messy, as to be expected. Be ready for crumbs all over the floor because the pieces fly. If you get it wet then water and clay prints. It is an easy clean up, it just looks like a lot. ... show more

Okay, this was a great toy. It came with all the tools to scrape and hammer into the eggs to get to the dinosaur toy inside. I got it for my 4 year old but even my 13 year old loved it. They spend a solid 2 hours working together to get into these eggs, it was adorable. My 2 toddler neighbors came over and joined in on the fun...they also loved them. They didn't want to stop haha. The eggs are a chalk like material so it is messy... Which is why we went outside. I would plan on using these outside or lay down an old sheet or something you don't mind getting dirty for an easy clean up. I also love the information cards to identify the all dinosaurs. My kids loved these eggs and I enjoyed watching them experiment while they worked on this discovery task. We used it for a STEAM activity and I saved a few for their Easter baskets! The way the box opens and has a standing dinosaur would make it fun for a party display and activity as well. It comes with a good amount of tools to bring out the inner paleontologist and be successful at finding the dinosaur without giving up. My kids also had fun guessing which dinosaur they were digging using the included cards to figure it out. Fun for kids of all ages! My 8 and 2 year old were very excited to go digging for dinosaurs! It is nice that each egg is individually wrapped, so that they can do as many as they want, but don't have to do them all in one day. The tools were fun to use and worked well for getting to the dinosaurs. Each egg was able to entertain the kids for a good amount of time before they made it to the dinosaur, and they loved the brush for dusting off the excess on the dinosaurs. You can dig into the eggs as is, or you can soak the egg in water for 15 minutes prior to digging to soften it a little. We tried both ways and found that it was easier to get into after soaking, but more of a mess on their hands. Overall, either way worked great, and was fun. ... show more

The media could not be loaded. My kids had a blast with these Dino eggs! It took my 5 and 11 year old about 20 minutes to hammer through their first eggs to find their dinosaurs, then they couldn't wait to do the next one. 2 hours later and they had finished them all. They used the different tools provided, my only wish was that there was more than 1 hammer but they made it work. We put a paper plate underneath them as they worked which caught alot of the mess at first, but a towel would've probably worked a bit better. It all came very well packaged and would make a nice gift for boys and girls alike. Each dinosaur has a card with some fun facts about it. The media could not be loaded. We loved finding the dinosaurs! The tools that were included in the package were great for little kids. As an adult the puck on the end was uncomfortable to hold. I wish the pick just was it’s own tool. We soaked them for 15 minutes on accident and so they were a little too muddy but still fun! The dinosaurs are cute and fun to play with. The cards have great pictures and fun information. I would recommend them to anybody who loves dinosaurs! ... show more

    • Some eggs are empty.
2 of the 12 eggs didn't have a dinosaur in them. The tools were nice and sturdy compared to most kits. The dinosaurs are very small.
