    • Weak rope broke on the second day
The 4th time I started my engine, the rope broke at the handle. Luckily I had basic tools with me, I had to take it all the way apart and put the spring back into its anchor point because it slips out when the unit springs back suddenly. Then I reinstalled the now even shorter rope, which was difficult because I don't carry a lighter with me to melt the end with, so it kept fraying when I tried to put it through the holes. For added stress on me, a severe thunderstorm was bearing down on me and I had to do this work in 40 to 50 mph winds, but I finally got it back together and started the engine gently and my bike got home, just ahead of the storm. This was meant to be a spare starter, I was just testing it at this time. Obviously I will have to replace the rope with some diamond cord. This rope feels softer and cheaper than the rope that came in the engine's original starter, it's really noticeable when comparing the two side by side. I put my original starter back on until I can install something worth pulling into this one. Other than the rope, the rest of this starter seems to be of equal quality to the original. If you buy this starter, be prepared to replace the rope with diamond cord, or at least other rope that is actually meant for use in pull starters before using it, if you need to count on it. ... show more

It was exactly what I needed Replaced the ones on the Chinese 49cc 4 Stroke bicycle motors. Mine broke and you really can’t ever get it back to what it was. Nice inexpensive replacement quickly shipped

You should not be selling this crap, it look very nice but the rop come out on the 3rd pull and my engine spin freely.

Cheap only lasted two days about five pulls and it broke.
