When installing this item into a standard solid copper ground, it snapped in half. Yes, it actually snapped in half. I have never had "METAl snap" in half before when tightening to a grounding rod. The metal is not suitable for a proper ground clamp. Buyer beware!

Just like the old fashioned ground rod clamps that the hardware store carried. For reasons unknown these are not as ubiquitous as they once were and have become expensive. This ground rod clamp worked perfectly and the price is attractive.

Be aware, this clamp is not bronze/brass. It's cast iron. It was my mistake as I "assumed" by the photo is was bronze/brass. So, if you're clamping copper wire, to a copper clad ground rod you've go two problems. One, you have dissimilar metals setting up a corrosion problem, and two, if you're burying it you'll have rust leading to failure. Spend the extra couple of bucks and get something that will last over time. Otherwise, well built, great price (too great), and is in fact "as represented." ... show more
