The connections in the light have never worked, so the light flickers and goes through batteries very quickly. Changing the batteries is very challenging in that you must remove the unit from the wall completely in order to access the batteries. I put this in my mother's house and she never mentioned how bad this product is, because she didn't want to complain. I have attempted to repair the connections, but instead have found a better product for much cheaper. My husband got this for me for my birthday, installed it a month later, bulb lasted less than a month being used about 5-10 minutes about 4 times a week to put makeup on. It was amazing while it lasted, and now I am angry. This is ridiculous; based on other reviews, this seller is putting defective products into the marketplace. So many others cautioned about the bulbs, but I thought it would not happen to me. And the replacement bulbs are very expensive when compared to the overall cost of this item. I cannot see that I can even contact anyone to report this. We were not able to install and use it right away and there is only a 30 day return window. ... show more

I have had two of these mirrors - the first lasted about a year before the switch quit working. It would turn the light on but only on very dim. We had to juggle the switch to get a bright light but it would not stay on unless we held the switch in a certain position. I finally got fed up and replaced it with the exact same model hoping we had just gotten a bad mirror the first time. I have had the second mirror for less than 3 months and the switch doesn't work at all. I'm trying to return it and will have to see if the company stands by its products. ... show more

This thing is so addictive. The Fairmont San Francisco room we stayed in had one in the bathroom, and I immediately put it on my wish list. Mounting it to the wall leaves counter space open and allows you to have it at the exact right height. The magnifying side is so useful for tweezing and anything else you may need extra close up. I bought the first one in 2010 and loved it. Bright enough and very magnified. Last week it stopped working. One of the issues I had was the door to the battery holder doesn't click tight and eventually I had to tape it with duct tape. But the mirror last me 10 years which is good enough for me. I loved it enough to repurchase again (newer model). With the second purchase, the screw holes are better placed. The one purchased in 2010 had a the holes at 10, 2 and 6 and I couldn't get to the one at 10 because the medicine cabinet was in the way. The new one is more like 11, 1 and 6 so I can reach all 3 screw holes. The battery door hasn't been updated, still a little flimsy and doesn't quite click tightly. But I'm willing compromise on that since I love everything else about this lighted and magnified mirror. ... show more

Have had a mirror like that for years, but left it behind when sold our house ( I actually thought I was buying the same one here). This one here is not as good as the one I had before. I have used laser level to install it and when I extend the arm, even though it is super firm on the wall, it looks very unleveled. The moving parts/joints are actually not smooth to deal with and not have that great movement like the one I had before. I wish I could remember the other one’s brand. I really like this mirror! It has a magnified side to tweeze eyebrows, then regular magnification for make-up applicatio. I had originally planned to plug the light in, but decided I didn’t want wires, so I would try it with batteries. It’s been four months, and the batteries are still going strong. Replacing the batteries will be a pain because you have to take the mirror off the wall and unscrew it, but if it’s infrequent, I can deal with it. ... show more

The mirror itself is lightweight, is sturdy enough, and the mounting hardware looks sufficient. However, we never got the chance to install it because the 10x magnification mirror was cracked all the way across, so we didn't even attempt to test the electrical. The packaging looked sufficient and the box exterior was undamaged, so this must have been a fluke at some point between production finish to our door. It's too bad since we were looking forward to installing and using this one based on the overall reviews and features. I will say though, Amazon did make the refund process painless and didn't even want the mirror back. The only reason we're posting here is because the refund process didn't offer a chance to provide a photo of the damaged mirror and I wanted some sort of record for integrity purposes. ... show more
