  • Excellent protection and balance for hiking
This bag is a must for the big Manfrotto tripod, the MacDaddy that self adjusts the lets instantly. I have that one with the Manfrotto 400 head; 6.6 pounds of geared perfection. This whole thing fits perfectly into this bag. The handle strap has two places to attach which compensates for a top heavy set up like mine. Nice for walking with it. The shoulder strap is nice and wide and set up in such a way as to fit nicely on my shoulder so I have no problem spreading the load there when I walk a long ways. I am using a medium format camera to make my photographs and I like working at the lens sweet spots, usually f8 to f11. This leads me to semi long exposure times on occasion and I do not want my sharpness degraded by an inferior level of stability. This works wonderfully. I also want this tripod and head to last a long time so I want them protected while hiking to remote places and out of the way of the abuse the elements can wreak on equipment. I am very happy with the bag, the tripod and the head. Highly recommend if you want seriously sharp image files of around 325 megabytes that can be enlarged easily to 36 by 48 inches. ... show more

  • Great design overall but the zipper is a deal breaker (for me)
I'm able to fit a fit a vintage Ries A100 wooden tripod, with Photoplane tilt head, into this bag (with tilt adjustment shaft removed from head and stored in the internal sewn-in compartment). I really like internal storage compartment, additional padding and the feature that allows the ends of the handles to be reattached to the topside of the bag to relocate its center of balance towards the heavier side (that holds the tripod head) - my Ries A100 carried nicely leveled in this configuration. Unfortunately, the operation of the zipper was bothersome for me. It eventually jammed, even though I was trying to be careful. I figured eventually in the rush to catch the day's last light, I'd eventually break the zipper. Given this, I chose to return this bag. I hope Manfrotto will update the MBAG120PN bag with a more robust and smoothly operating zipper so one does not need to be pre-occupied with being so careful when opening/closing it (like one would find on a good snow ski bag). ... show more

  • JUST BARELY FITS their 161MK2B TRIPOD
I had to practice inserting and extracting the tripod a few times before taking it to the field. Just fits without even a cm to spare. That said - it is therefore a "perfect fit" for that tripod sans any extras. The angled cup where the feet go seems would have been better just flat. Nevertheless a nice HD soft case well worth the investment. ... show more

  • Manfrotto Design Flaw
This Manfrotto bag is a high-quality bag. The tripod for which this bag is designed, fits perfectly...however--and this is a BIG however, you cannot place your tripod into the bag WITH a tripod head connected to the tripod! That's right, when you place your tripod in the bag, you have to physically remove the head from the tripod or NOTHING fits!!!! What..they couldn't make the bag an inch bigger--especially for the $$$ they're getting??? Look...any pro who needs to buy a bag this big usually has pro equipment (translated to mean quality-sized products) to put into it. So wouldn't you think somebody at Manfrotto would say,"Gee...this is a honking-big bag and probably the head is also going to be...duh...big as well." Ya think???? I do not recommend this bag at all. ... show more

  • Excellent bag!!
Wow, this is a large, roomy, sturdy bag. Worth every dime for any professional. Stout zipper, padded interior with interior zipper pocket, 2" nylon web shoulder strap. Just good gear. I carry/store a tripod mounted ham radio antenna in it. This is a high quality item.

  • Great bag, well made
Well...is a Manfrotto ! The bag is pretty well made, and the padding is real nice. One nice touch is the red color on the zipper. Overall is probably one of the best tripods bags I have. I would definitely recommend it if you got a large tripod.
