First off, this is a great quality scratching post - it just has a big design flaw. Both of our cats (a 15-year-old and a 2-year-old) loved it, and it seems to be made out of nicer materials than other posts we've had. We got it for the younger cat since he's pretty tall, and it worked well for his height. The sisal is kind of a mat that's wrapped around the tree, rather than rope, so it won't come unraveled, and the carpet at the base is good quality. After a little over a month of regular use by both cats, the tree wasn't showing any major signs of wear and tear. But one of the times the younger cat scratched on it, he pulled it over, and it broke in two pieces. I contacted the company, Yuloyi, and they got back to me almost immediately. Within about a day, I had a full refund. So bottom line - tree gets 3 stars because the materials they use are nicer than many, and it's a great tree for taller cats, but if it tips over, it'll probably break. Seller gets 5 stars for fast response and for making things right so quickly!

This is a great scratching post for cats. I love how big this scratch post is, however I did expect it to be a bit more weighed down. I’ve noticed that if I don’t have it in a corner, my cats will knock it over, daily. Other than that, it’s great.

This is a fairly well-made cat scratcher / condo. Unfortunately, my two cats have zero interest in it. I even sprinkled catnip along the base and scattered some on the top - no luck. I tried playing with a feathery toy around this scratcher, and a laser pointer, dragging each along the 'scratchy' part to try to get the cats to 'catch' their claws on the post but they refused. Then, I tried picking them up and dragging their front paws along the scratchy part of the post, and they just looked at my like I was nuts. They prefer the 'disposable' flat cardboard scratchers, I guess. Which stinks for me because once the cardboard ones get worn down, little pieces of cardboard get tracked everywhere. But I guess I'll just have to buy more of those. This was easy for my husband to put together (it took him 5 minutes) and it would be pretty sturdy if my 12-pound cat actually used it. But it would not be sturdy for my 20-pound cat (he is a Maine Coon and very large).
