I was a little apprehensive when purchasing these Grizzly lockers for my 2008 JK for both front and rear axles (D30 & D44), which I did while regearing them from 3.73s to 4.56s. They both perform flawlessly and the slight ratcheting sound gets almost nonexistent after break-in. The only thing you must consider that as with all upgrades or modifications, there are other issues that must be considered. It is well known that a D30 front axle is prone to being a little weak and should not be beat on off-road, the other issue with a fully locked front is steering. On tighter turns with the front locker engaged and whole accelerating the steering gets very hard to turn. The reason being is that your power steering pump and gearbox are not designed to have the force required to steer a locked front axle reasonably. So, keep in mind that a steering box upgrade (likely a PSC Big Bore steering gearbox) is likely in your future if you really want to enjoy the front Grizzly Locker. The rear is no problem at all and is fine, but even that may need chromoly shaft upgrades under high torquing conditions. Hope this helps. ... show more

Now that the front axle is locked in my Jeep, I no longer ignore the more difficult looking trails in my area. Made my first trip to the top of a mountain on the fire breaks with very little effort. Highly recommend this locker

Front is silent but the rear clicks. These are some of the toughest in the industry. Its not mentioned but you can buy the “YES” service plan for most yukon parts, which give you a lifetime warranty.
