  • Brand new part - works very well. Installation difficulty was a medium.
Hanger bearings were shot on my 2013 Mazda CX9 and the local garage was ball parking the replacement shaft at twice the cost of this one plus additional $ for the installation. This shaft is a brand new part that came well packaged. It comes balanced and you can see the various small weights that were welded to it during the balancing. So far the new shaft seems to be behaving well and has not introduced any vibrations. I ranked the install as a medium difficulty for a couple of reasons - reasons that would apply to any drive shaft and not just this one. 1) With the vehicle on the ground in your driveway, there's really no room to work on/under the vehicle. You'll need to find a safe way to get some extra room to get at all the bolts. You will be completely under the vehicle. 2) An impact wrench was required (for me at least) to get the end bolts to come loose. I tried an open ended wrench first and got absolutely nowhere. Impact wrench spun them out in seconds. I did need to temporarily remove a front cross brace (2 bolts) to allow enough room to get my impact wrench up and at them. Hanger bearing bolts came right out with just a socket wrench. General list of tools that I used: Impact wrench Dead blow hammer - to free up the ends once unbolted Socket wrench Metric sockets Breaker bar - to remove that front cross member for easier access Torque wrench ... show more

  • 550 miles so far, no issues
I was sceptical but after the carrier bearing gave out entirely on my original I had to act quickly. U joints moved freely, carriers lined up and fit correctly, balance appears correct. Have done a 0-100 with no vibration or issues ender torque. The carrier bearing damper foam/rubber seems inferior to OEM quality but is working as intended. The install was super easy, even on my rusty cx9 with 98k miles. Any average DIY person should be able to quickly knock this out. ... show more

  • So far so good
Nothing else to say at this point, the title of this review says it all, so far so good. This drive shaft is installed in working as designed. Time will tell.

  • not ballanced/vibration
Although the part looks very nice it is causing a vibration. The part is only covered for 30 days so by the time I received the item and installed and drove for a short time the return has expired. It is possible it was damaged in shipping or bad right out of the box but either way I now need to purchase another one and it won't be from Amazon. ... show more

  • Working Great so far
My mechanic installed this for me about a month ago and it is working great! I have a 2012 CX-9. I live in Colorado and AWD is a must. I didn't want to break the bank and this part was at a great price.

  • Fixed the Problem
Bought this for my father's 2012 Mazda CX9 Touring Edition. Had a mechanic install it and so far it appears to be holding up.
