Less than 8k miles after being professionally installed, the Yukon Gear 4.11 posi trac unit and gears grenaded itself while going 25mph NOT TOWING ANYTHING, under normal acceleration. Contacted the vendor AND AllState for replacement and NEITHER helped at all. Never heard back from vendor, and AllState 4 year protection plan said they won't cover a "mechanical" failure because the unit BROKE?!? Big scam on BOTH PARTS!!! ... show more

Will this work for my 97 chevy c1500 and this is a locker correct?

    • Good product wrong bearings
This is the right ring gear, pinion gear, for an 07 suburban 1500. The pinion bearings were correct but the bearings for the differential are too small for the axle housing and the pinion seal was also incorrect.

Ok so it arrived in a decent time frame, the carrier looks to be solid (that’s why Yukon is well known). The pinion and ring gear seems to look pretty decent as well, not sure what brand though? The reason for the one star review is that they sent me the wrong carrier bearing kit. I’m not sure what truck these bearings were for but they are quite a bit smaller in diameter than the ones that are on the stock carrier. When installed there is about a 1/4” of play up and down of the entire carrier assembly. Obviously not going to work out well....To top that off, there was no pinion seal with the kit. So I literally had to go to the parts store and buy the correct bearing set, and pinion seal. Then cut off the bearings and races from the carrier and reinstall the correct bearings. Maybe they put the wrong parts in the box? The pinion bearings seemed to match up without issue, although now I’m a bit Worried that those are wrong too since they came in the same kit. Guess I’ll find out in 10k miles... Over all, a lot of added work and headache from the wrong bearing issue. ... show more
