One of the inevitabilities of a small kitchen is having to get creative to maximize storage space. I have had my spices on top of the stove for years. One problem with that is they often fall off and sometimes right into a pot of water or into food. I’ve ruined jars of spices that got submerged when falling this way. When I saw this silicone stovetop shelf, I knew immediately that it would help. This silicone shelf works on top of a flat top stove - if you have a curved one, this will not really work. It is the width of a standard US range so should fit most applications. I have an old range with a flat top and this fit perfectly. The silicone shelf has built-in magnets. My stove top plate was aluminum and the magnets wouldn’t grab so I used the included metal adhesive pads to stick on the top plate. This worked great and the shelf gripped even better with the magnets. I loaded it up fully with spices and it has been in place for a couple of weeks. It looks more organized than having the spices balanced and since putting it in, I have not knocked any spice jars off. With that alone, it will pay for itself! This is a great value for the price and I highly recommend. If you have things on the back of the stove or want to free up some cabinet space, this silicone shelf is a must have! ... show more

This seems like it’ll work ok, but the magnets aren’t stuck too firmly, and the bottom of the shelf itself isn’t rigid, so it’s curving a little with the rounded front edge of the back of our stove. On one that has a totally flat and level top, I don’t see this having and kind of issue. Due to the lack of internal rigidity/structure though, it doesn’t work perfectly on ours. I might use it instead on the top of the fridge, or the back of the counter….just to be safe. Easy to clean though, and looks nice. Length is just right. ... show more

Not bad. I now have a nice place to store some of my more regularly used spices instead of putting them back in the cabinet every time. It is a flexible rubber in that if the back of your stove have a bit of curve to it, lime an arched bridge, this should mold well to it. The only thing I was disappointed about was that this barely feels magnetic at all. I mean I think I feel an ever so slight grab to the metal when placing this but then again, it could just be the weight of the rubber. In any case it shouldn't accidentally slide off unless you start shaking your stove in frustration because you burned your dinner you've been working on all day. I used to drop a lot of things behind the stove. This will prevent that from happening. It is silicone and so there is no way it will scratch the paint. I just wish the magnet is bigger or stronger so it has more grip. Overall, it is useful for the purpose.
