I purchased this for my husband mostly for when he is outside snowplowing with our tractor or chopping wood but one could wear for many winter activities such as hunting, ice fishing, shoveling, sledding etc.. We live in a place where it can get very cold and windy (Central Wisconsin) and this has done a pretty good job protecting him from the elements. He is not one to fuss with putting extra stuff on and handles weather better than most but has used this numerous times already. I think it is of decent quality, quite thick and warm and somewhat adjustable with the side tabs. I felt like it might be a little difficult to see out of but so far for him, no problems. It is fairly large and therefore meant for a larger person or head, as it would be too large for me (I am an avg. sized woman). Very comfy, soft and quiet when you move your head. The draw strings work great and offer great adjustability. Good for cool weather not for warm weather hunting

    • Very Warm, Larger Fit Than I Imagined
I bought this thing for cold morning outings, and have used it a few times. I have some initial impressions. You can tell that it is well made with a nice feeling fleece. It is soft and definitely comfortable on the face, and it is very warm. The downside to this warmer is that it is pretty bulky. You can cinch the thing tighter around your head, but then you are left with two big cumbersome loops on both sides of your head which was slightly annoying. For some reason I imagined more of a balaclava fit, which is tight to the face and head. This is much different than I was imagining. If you don't like that snug feel around your head, you will probably enjoy wearing this. ... show more

My dad has a chronic lung condition that makes it hard to breathe, especially in the cold (and windy!) Wisconsin winters. He’s an avid bow and gun hunter, so he’ll sit out there all day. This face cover is thick enough to still allow him to breathe while maintaining some moisture (don’t worry, it’s just enough to make the air not dry) and heat to allow him to be more comfortable and safe.
