  • Dude, it was 3pr for $15.
Color: Blue
They were exactly what I expected, and they didn’t cost very much. If you play hard, and I do, some of the rods may begin to slip forward. Pop the black ends off. Add a little ittle wood glue. Put ‘em back on, and you’re as good as gold. You can’t buy 3 or of any stix for under $20. Even if you hate them, you can have a blast beating them up, and I bet it takes longer than you’d think. Cough up the 💴 dough, whimp! ... show more

  • Quickly fall apart
Color: Red
Out of the box these are a competent copy of “the original”. They look, feel, sound, and play as you would hope. The problem is all 3 pairs I received FELL APART before the 2nd set was over!!! First individual bamboo rods slip forward and stick out, then break off when striking a drum! I would push them back but they then jut out again with the next tune. Then the black cap at the base would slip off, the wrapping is now so loose I was then holding a loose collection of bamboo rods, and they are now worthless as a tool to play a drum set. This is no fluke, all 3 pairs I received did this, and all before the end of the 2nd set at best! 1 pair “dissolved” on the 2nd tune I played!! I tried wrapping them tightly with tape, no help at all. They’re a great price but likely won’t last long enough to finish the 1st gig they’re used on. Be wary!! Note: I am not a power player. My gig is with an electric blues band and my style is hardly “punishing”, just precise and musical. I will not buy these again. ... show more

  • Very cheap
Color: Red
I read the reviews of this product and I agree with the majority. Very cheap made Chinese item with assembly steps cut out and no quality control (like most Chinese items). I used several of the suggestions put forward by other users. Glue in certain areas mostly. However the price is good enough to look past the flaws. Three of these for the price of one with glued parts and a name brand. ... show more

  • Solid Offering at this price point
Color: Red
If you are expecting ProMark HotRods ($24/Pair) at this price point you are going to be disappointed. That said, I use these for small rooms where I need low volume or for practice sessions. Out of the box, these need help. The rubber cap on the bottom falls off almost immediately. The middle rods slide out during playing. So,, you ask why 4 stars? These issues are easily fixed. I literally took the time to (see Pic) to tightly tape the bundle in a few key places (Strips of Gaffers Tape) to hold them together. Since doing this, they perform really well. Three pairs for ~$18 is a steal. These things get beat up and will break over time. Now I can buy 6 sticks for ~$18 which will last me a while. For that reason. 4 stars. Just don't expect HotRod Performance from these things out of the box. Happy Drumming. ... show more

  • Great alternatives to hot rods at a fraction of the price
Color: Black
Honestly really surprised me with how good they were for the price. I needed some hot rod style sticks for a lighter, more acoustic-style worship night that we were holding at my church, and debated between these, or a single pair of hot rods that would cost $5 more (again, for a single pair compared to the 3 pairs you get here). The sticks felt nice, they hold up well, and I have zero regrets getting these compared to any name-brand hot rods. That being said, the tip of the sticks that held the bundle together did feel a little sticky. As far as I could tell there was no glue or anything on the outside, the material just felt... sticky. I don't really have a better way to describe it. Regardless, that doesn't do much to take away from their quality, and I would definitely recommend them, especially if they stay at this price. ... show more

  • Comfortable but almost instantly disposable
Color: Blue
OK to use if you need them for one or two songs. Tried to use them for a full gig in a small venue and they are really not sturdy enough. Fell apart very easily. You get what you pay for. Price is great for use once or twice.

  • Buyer beware!! Cheap!! Not worth the discount. They are useless
Color: Red
First, the black flimsy end caps fall off within 4 or 5 measures of drumming. As a result of the flimsy, cheaply made caps, the rods don't stay together and they creep up. Honestly, it's not brain surgery. They are priced low because they are garbage.
