My husband and I are pretty small people. We have these stools and then another version which do not have backs. I don’t think i realized how much the additional backrest would limit your seating area. Like i said, I’m a size 4, and i sort of sit off the sides and back of a regular 12x12 stool. This stool is also 12x12 but it limits you to the center and front since you cannot hang off the sides and back. The back rest is so low it is unusable. It was very uncomfortable. We planned to return but it is at your own dime to ship them (very heavy large box). I am so used to prime shipping, i was really disappointed when i found that out. Pros: -Assembly was pretty easy. -They look great. Exactly what I was going for. -They tuck UNDER my counter height table so we can use it as a prep surface. -The quality was great for the price. -The chairs don’t swivel too fast. There’s enough resistance that the kids can’t spin themselves dizzy. Cons: -The smell! We had to let them air out in the garage for 3 days. But they’re inside and odorless now. -The packaging. I know they need to protect their product but the hardest part of the assembly was getting through all that plastic and foam. An environmental nightmare. -Not safe for littles. My 1.5-year-old niece got her finger pinched the first time she visited. No major damage but DON’T buy these if you have toddlers. The swivel top makes it extremely dangerous for little delicate fingers. ... show more

They swivel with easy and look ok but they are Very, very uncomfortable. I cannot stress how uncomfortable they are. I’m 5’9, 145 and my butt and my back hate these chairs. Once, when I was wearing short shorts and sitting sort of on the edge, the chair swiveled and pinched my butt cheek. Great service! Delivery showed I wouldn’t receive until first week of March and I received them via FedEx on Sunday, Feb. 7th! Really packaged great, easy to unload from box, easy instructions, only 8 bolts per chair (they even provide extra bolts) took 11 minutes to assemble each stool. These are exactly what I needed and I love the way they look and fit under the counter. As with any boxed product from China, that has finished wood, there was a strong odor but it has dissipated. Keep in mind that the seat is wood and is small so probably wouldn’t be the most comfortable for long term sitting. I would buy these again. ... show more

I LOVE the sturdiness of the chairs. Every single item was individually wrapped so nothing was scratched, clear instructions and tools were also in the package. The seat pad is not compressed wood, they all have rubber tips so your floor will not be scratched. The back rests are also very sturdy and it is over all very easy to assemble. I looked at multiple local furniture stores and for the quality, these would be an easy $500 set (Ashley, Living Spaces and even IKEA!). I would definitely buy more items from this store. The only con is the industrial smell, it is very strong but the quality definitely speaks louder than the smell. A simple wipe down with warm water would fix it. ... show more
