Update: After a year of daily use, it still looks like new and has not lost any of its thickness. In fairness I only use it for yoga and refuse to let shoes touch it. The slippery issue I had with my hands is no longer an issue. That went away after a few times cleaning it with water and dish soap. I still wear yoga socks though so my feet get a better grip. Due to my health problems, I struggle with strength so I don't to risk slippage due to my knees giving out. I am actually about to order a second one of these so that I can use it with shoes on and not care about it getting dirty when doing my dumbbell or body strength exercises. That way I am still keeping the one for my yoga practice germ free. I still do recommend this mat. This is the best mat I have owned so far. I tend to go through yoga mats fast because I use to use them daily for workouts. Usually they're still too thin and hurt my knees. This mat is very thick and feels supported except for how slippery the top is. The bottom is definitely non-slip and mine is on a slippery vinyl snap & lock flooring. Does not slip at all! But now that I do yoga daily in addition to working out, I needed something sturdy and cushioned. I am sure the slippery issue on the top will go away in time. And it hardly had a smell when I unpacked it. I still wiped it down with warm soapy water first. I definitely recommend this. I read online that microfiber suede mats tend to be slippery at first and to spray it with water to help it stop from being slippery. I haven't tried that yet honestly. I just wear yoga socks and my problem has been solved. Oh and by the way I am 5'11 and all of me fit onto this mat without me spilling over on the top or bottom of the mat when laying down.

I got this yoga mat because I moved to a place with a hardwood floor in the last year. My original extra thick yoga mat was oddly not thick enough to deal with the fact that I have always had very sensitive kneecaps and bones when doing yoga on a hardwood floor. This actually works in preventing me from getting bruises and aches while doing my workouts and is delightful to look at. One thing to note is that the top printed surface area does have a very similar woven texture to a mouse pad and therefore you could slip a little bit more than you would on a more traditional rubberized yoga mat. I have not had any major issues with slips, but it's something to be aware of as you acclimate to the surface of the new yoga mat. If you live somewhere very dry, the slipping may or may not be more of a concern if your hands and feet tend to get dry (mine do not have this issue haha). This said, the bottom layer of the mat is more rubberized and does not budge so it is very safe to use overall.

This is a gorgeous mat. The print is vibrant and exactly as pictured. Problem I noticed though is it doesn't have a soft cushion despite its thickness. My pelvic and tail bone hurt when doing certain pilates moves.

The mat is so pretty but it's definitely not non-slip on the top. I've done yoga for a long time and couldn't even do down dog with my hands and feet all on the mat without sliding. The thickness is as described, which I do like for my back in, for example, happy baby, because my backbone would always dig into the floor with a thinner mat, but the thickness does make it harder for balancing poses.

I ordered the purple flower mat, but it's blue. I unrolled it thinking that it was just the edges, but the flower is light blue and it goes into a deep royal blue... no purple. I'm returning it. Overall the quality seemed nice, but it's not what I wanted.
