This thing is obnoxious, there's no option for just a simple "beep" it's gotta be some horrendous version of a random song, or just a super loud doorbell sound. Glad everyone in the neighborhood knows what kind of security I have now.

Cheap plastic product would not last in the Texas sun. Water proof seal on the outside unit is a joke. No way it keeps water out of the unit. Buttons on the Receiver did not work therefore sound did not work at all. In all fairness I’m sure I just received a faulty unit but the over all build quality is poor at best. ... show more

    • Solar Driveway Alarm Works

We have a large forested property with a 350-ft driveway. I had a driveway alarm, older style than this, but it doesn’t always get triggered by a vehicle, so I added this further down the drive. It works well, gets good signal 300 ft away from the receiver plugged in inside the house, and has a lot of tunes or ding-dong sounds to choose from. It comes with an additional mount, but I used the 3 holes in the solar unit to screw it directly into a tree. It is sensitive and there are 3 sensitivity settings to choose from. I have it aimed slightly down across a 5 ft open area, and then the 12ft wide driveway, and it works best on the least sensitive setting (there’s a push button on the unit). When something triggers it, a momentary blue light in the front window lets you know on site that motion has been detected, and back in the house, the music plays. I appreciate that when power goes out, as it does from time to time in this rural area, the base unit remembers the tune you choose, even if it’s unplugged. ... show more

I wanted to ue it for ecurity but it is way too senitive. No matter where or how I place the sending unit, it contantly quawks. It is on the lowest ensitivity setting but still goes off with the slightest breeze.

I ordered this to protect my Halloween props from theft. I have it mounted about 5' up and it easily can detect you 30-40 feet in the day or night. Nice selection of alerts and volume settings. Has worked nonstop as it detects every Amazon delivery from our side yard!
