This is my first Yeti product ever and that's only because I needed a shaker bottle due to the rising costs of pre-mixed protein shakes. I use it at work and didn't want to wash a shaker ball too, so this twisty design promised perfectly mixed drinks and I'm impressed -- it does exactly that with my Carnation powder (liquid HAS to go first, BTW). No clumps and honestly, these drinks taste better when fresh anyways (BONUS: extra-creamy oat milk is truly spectacular with shakes like these!) I got the green model to quickly spot it anywhere I forget it, haha...

This is the perfect shaker bottle, with a great design and no annoying shaker ball. I was glad to see that Yeti kept the original Helimix design because I already have one of those and love it. The tumbler is the same, but they *did* change the cap/lid just a bit. This cap IS harder to open, as I saw in reviews, but I decided to purchase it anyway. I figured I could always just unscrew the top and drink it that way if necessary. Turns out, I don't have to. Simply bring the tumbler with the cap facing you to your chest, place one thumb on each side of the cap, and push up. Voila! You have your excellent tumbler that closes securely --and now you know how to open it. I'm a woman, and can do it easily, so men should be able to. I don't care that I can't open it with one hand. Plus, I love that it's a secure closure. Another positive is that the top does NOT have one of those rubber or silicone gaskets. Many do, and they're notorious for falling out of the circular track, and being difficult to replace, especially when wet. That just proves that with a good lid design, they're unnecessary--and it IS all about the lid design because when those gaskets fall out, *the lids leak* if you don't replace them. The Helimix/Yeti *never* used the gaskets. You simply screw on the lid and the tumbler threads make it very easy. No leaks. One thing: Do your homework and measure for the size you want. I had the size advertised as 27 oz for the Helimix, and it's actually 20 oz. That happens to be the perfect size for my needs. When I ordered the Yeti, though, I measured the dimensions of the Helimix, and those ofthe Yeti 27 oz matched what I had and like. BTW, the markings on both the Helimix and Yeti only go up to 20 oz, *and that's what they hold when filled to that point*, so I don't know what's going on with Yeti's advertising, and Helimix 's before that. But just be aware that what's sold as 27 oz is actually a 20 oz tumbler. And if you order the 20 oz tumbler, be prepared for a 16 oz one lol. One more thing: As others have mentioned, it's easy to get a finger stuck in the cap "joint" when opening it. Just be aware of where your fingers are when doing that.

Very Sturdy and works well for mixing. The lid does require a little oomph to pop open but the leak-proof and quality materials used on this more than make up for the little extra push the cap needs. It has become my absolute favorite shaker cup to use. I use it mostly for mixing powdered (iced) coffee type mixes and it washes clean easily and doesn't warp in the dish washer.

I had two of the original Helimix cups and wanted two more. Then I found out they were bought by Yeti and the lid design looked a little different. I bought them anyway, and figured if I didn't like them I could just return them. First off, the base cup is identical to the originals, which makes me very happy, because I love the way they work. The lid is definitely slightly different. It was more difficult to snap open and shut, which sucks for me because I'm not a gym bro - I'm a cancer patient and the Helimix lids were already at the limit of what I could open and close. Also there is something about the back of the hinge part where my finger got stuck and pinched the first time I struggled to open the lid. It bruised my finger pretty good. I've never had that happen with the OG cup lids. Other than the lid design, though, I'm very pleased that Yeti didn't change the design of the cup itself, because these cups are amazing. I love that they really do shake up all the powder without needing a whisk ball. One less part to clean; one less part to lose. I've used these with hydration powders, protein powders (both whey and vegan), breakfast shake powders - and that helix design destroys them all, giving me a nicely well-mixed beverage.

I originally considered the smaller version, but after using this larger one, I think it was the better call. It feels comfortable in my hand and gives enough room for mixing without feeling too bulky. The vortex design blends protein powder well without needing a whisk ball, and it is easy to clean. The bottle feels durable, looks great in Navy, and works well for everyday use.
