I needed to expand my number of Yeti mugs with slide closure lids. This is to prevent spills and breakage in the kitchen. Spills are very much reduced though not completely eliminated. As the mugs are metal, there is no breakage. The mugs are easy to clean. They keep liquids or foods hot or cold for quite a while, especially if you first run either hot or cold water in them. I noticed that the 24 ounce travel mug has a slightly different, improved feature. The lid screws on as well as sealed with a gasket. This should reduce spills even further. Since the slide closure is a desired feature, it is not possible to contain the spills 100%. I have a bad habit of starting a cup of coffee, getting immersed in work, and remembering the coffee only after it is cold. YETI mugs aren't cheap, but they definitely hold the temperature for longer than most mugs and cups. The O-ring seal in the lid is solid, and the little magnetic closure prevents splashing. The YETI logo is embossed on one side and printed on the other. The wide, flat bottom design means it won't fit most cup holders but it's a stable base for my AeroPress coffee maker. I tend to set my cup down and forget it for a while, this cup keeps it hot and drinkable for about 2 hours. My cup is good to the last drop. No down side, you get a good quality cup. One thing to remember is they offer to send you a free gift if you register online, don't do like i did and remove the barcode from the bottom of the cup, before you scan it. ... show more

I bought this in lilac/lavender. It’s the perfect size for me. And keeps my coffee hot. The lid fits perfectly and is easy to put on and take off. I live the magnetized lid slide. I love the color and I use it everyday. I plan on purchasing more of the 10oz size in other colors.

First off, it's a Yeti. Built tough, dishwasher safe, easy to care for, flat bottomed, comes in colors, and will fit into a car cup holder. My 14oz mug is equally well built but is too large to fit in any cup holder that I could find. This 10oz one will. Now for my 2 gripes. The first gripe I have is with the difficulty of removing the lid. It's a press fit and while it goes on easily enough, it comes off HARD. The 10oz version is even worse than the 14oz and that is no cake walk. Seems that once there is heat in the mug, the lid grips like crazy. Deal breaker...? Not really but it's good to know going in. Secondly, the handle isn't exactly comfortable. The D-shaped handle is thinner than on the 14oz version and is a bit smaller making the handle on this one less comfortable to hold. The metal is flat with rounded edges but because the metal is flat and not contoured in any way, it creates hot spots on my fingers. Your results may vary. Otherwise, it holds coffee temperature pretty well but, not like my Zojirushi. That thing will stay hot forever. The lid on the Yeti is plastic and lets enough heat through that my coffee slowly cools. Slowly, not rapidly.
