I purchased the Yeti Thin Ice Refreezable Cooler Ice Pack when I purchased a Hopper Flip 8. I work as a firefighter and thought this would be a great addition to my work vehicle. The Hopper Flip 8 is the perfect size for a guy to pack his lunch, drinks, and snacks for the day. I have other Yeti products and believe in the name being synonymous with quality and I don't mind paying for quality - when it's warranted. The first day I used the Hopper Flip 8 and the Thin Ice Pack, my lunch was 'cool' and the ice pack was no longer ice. The next day I used my new cooler, I used a much cheaper ice pack that we've had for years. I'm not sure what brand because honestly, we just picked it up on a weekly supermarket trip. Result? It was still frozen inside my cooler when I got home at the end of my 12 hour shift. Overall, I give the Hopper 5 stars and the Thin Ice Pack 3. For the value, the Thin Ice Pack simply isn't worth the money. ... show more

Get this, it’s not a piece of crap bag cooler! I’ve never cared if an item I am considering buying is a YETI or Wal***t brand, I go for quality, and this cooler hits it perfect, dead center, out of the ballpark perfect. The quality is all over this cooler, from the zipper to the stitching, IT IS impeccable. Not a THREAD out of place thread or imperfection anywhere- if there is one I am THAT person who will find it. I also purchased the Camino carryall in 20 and 35, same thing, perfect! I think I’ll keep both sizes as the price point is super reasonable for the quality and workmanship you get. I have no doubt these bags and the Hopper will last my lifetime! Wish I had these when my kids were young! Unless you’re buying this cooler instead of paying your electric bill, I say GET IT, you won’t be sorry LOL, actually you won’t be sorry even if your lights are turned off! 😂 ... show more

I’ve been using Hydro flask for years. But when Yeti decided to discontinue the Nordic Purple and the price dropped I decided to finally jump on it. These are my first Yeti coolers. They are superior quality compared to the hydro flask. I just received the hopper 8 today. I put the newer version of the Hydro Flask ice which is thicker and slightly larger than the older version. It fit like a glove. It can hold 8 cans of 12 oz Pepsi. I put the older hydro flask ice on top and there wasn’t any issues zipping it closed. I bought the Hopper 12 @ Dicks Sporting Goods a little over a week ago. It held ice for 3 days in my car in the Az heat. Impressed. Why didn’t I get this sooner. If you want to use this as a work lunchbag, I'd look elsewhere. ALMOST every other cooler has some like, mesh lining on the side or somewhere to place stuff like your keys or a pen or anything.. For Yeti, this means that they can charge you like $100 extra to buy a Yeti bag to place on the cooler. Also, it seems to be difficult to actually find those, so you're already going to be looking at off brand products and might as well stay in that area when looking for a cooler/lunchbox. ... show more
