Size: Umbrella Studio Lighting Kit 3
When I say portable, I only had the lights with me so I could do outside senior pictures. I was able to have a friend help me with some senior pictures that I did. We were able to use the lights with stands with her holding them to provide lighting while the weather was overcast. The lights gave a more natural lighting which is what I was wanting. The stands and lights did weigh a bit but they can be used outside when the sun isn't so bright or out. When it comes to using everything in my studio, the backdrop was really easy to set up. No matter which screen I use, when paired with the lights, it makes for a great backdrop. The stand that holds the backdrops is very strong and sturdy. Even while moving props or a person around on the screens, this stand does not move or even come close of tipping over. Setting everything up did take some time to do and while I am short, I did have to use a step ladder to help hang the screens but once everything was set up, it just makes the perfect backdrop for any photo session. If asked is this perfect for a beginner, I would definitely say yes. This is the perfect setup for any beginner because you practically get everything needed to start taking pictures except for a camera. The screens themselves are thick and do not tear or rip easily. Even with some sharp edges on some props that I have, these screens still don't tear or rip. This setup does come with light bulbs for the lights and they do provide the perfect amount of lighting for pictures. Nothing about this setup feels cheap or a waste of money. The tripods for the lights are very sturdy and even when I'm adjusting the lights, they stay still. The structure of the 2 tripods and the screen stand are structurally sound and has made taking pictures in my studio look more professional. ... show more

My work from home assignment was extended and my new manager wanted me to use more video calls. I noticed the Blur feature would sometimes not work correctly because of the amount of background distractions or lighting in my office. One of my interns suggested these type of back drop and lighting kits. And this setup works wonders! Another benefit of this kit is that other meeting participants do not notice the ring circles on my glasses from using those usb powered ring lights. I will also use these backdrops for phonegraphy for taking photos with my phone to list items for sale on marketplaces and other online sales sites. The poles are hollow and very lightweight. The cloths will need some steaming if the wrinkles appear in my calls or photos. Changing to portrait mode or focal length blurs the backdrops when using a camera app. The light bulbs are still CFL and do produce some heat but nothing noticeable even when using for 2 hours nonstop. The back drop poles and tripods will also be useful for our kids school events once we return to in class or hybrid social distance events. This way people can crop their phone photos and not have bricks or whiteboards in the background of their kids photos. Everything stores in the included bag but take care when using the bag to avoid damage to the zipper or tearing of the handles. ... show more

My daughter has been interested in photography, purchased this as a gift for her birthday. Overall happy with this investment.. It’s definitely a starter kit. It’s sturdy enough given the price point. definitely provides professional results! The fabric is thick and durable, she has experienced no glare issues whatsoever. The lights give great daylight type lighting and the umbrellas diffuse the light nicely as well. set up is easy, also stores away nicely and compact with a sturdy extremely handy storage bag included! would recommend this to any novice photographer just starting out. ... show more

I am kind of on the fence on this purchase. You get a lot for a great price. But, the assembly instructions are lacking. I haven't even gotten the lights together yet because l cannot figure it all out. Maybe with better assembly instructions, l could start getting excited about having this.

This product worked nicely for my basement studio. I use it for portraits and my video podcasts. It comes in a nice carry case so you can pack it up nicely and take it anywhere. I feel like the stands could be sturdier, but overall it’s a good value.

I have been very happy with the screen, its holder, and the lighting. I've used it several times and it does exactly what it's supposed to. I did have to purchase extra clips to hold the screen on properly. Be sure to wait until you see the pole size the clips will go on before purchasing.
