After upgrading to a Rogue Ohio bar and purchasing a Titan Safety Squat Bar for my home gym I needed J-Hooks with the UHMW lining to protect my new barbells. The product description reads "rubber" lining so it may very well not be UHMW, but it is a hard plastic and for my needs works perfectly. I use them on my Fitness Reality rack and the fit great. There are no protruding screws as encountered by some other reviewers. And for the price they're going to do what I needed them to do. I wish they were a little deeper to make the catch of the bar a little more substantial, but they are perfectly satisfactory in what the currently do. They move from one hole to the next on my rack easily and feel smooth in the transition. They also fit securely on the rack, so I don't use the knobs that came with them to secure it to the rack. Besides, those knobs will just leave gouges up and down the rack anyhow as they're tightened down, so I've tossed them. For the home gym these are great. ... show more

These bad boys arrived today and I'm very impressed! They fit my BodySolid Powerline rack perfectly and I'm blown away by the quality. The metal used is a much higher grade than I was expecting. They definitely have some weight, which is a good thing! My only complaint is that one of the knob holes was a bit too small, making it nearly impossible to screw the knob in. I managed to get it but it was a major chore. Aside from that, these things are great and well worth the money! ... show more

    • Quality j-hooks -- they work great with the Fitness Reality 810XLT Power Cage

TLDR: these J-hooks offer a huge upgrade to my power cage at a very low price. I bought these to replace the metal barbell holders that came with my Fitness Reality power cage. The metal barbell holders worked as expected, but they marked up the knurling on my barbell, and they can be pretty loud due to the lack of padding. Also, when re-racking the barbell after a set of bench presses, the bar bangs against the cage and the cage gets marked up. These J-hooks solve all of those problems. The padding protects the bar, and the back of the J-hooks protect the cage when I re-rack the bar. The padding also eliminates the loud clanging when re-rack the barbell. Since they tighten up to the cage, they do not rattle, so that is another nice feature. I do most of my workouts at 5:00 am, while my kids are sleeping, so being able to work out quietly is a big benefit. I highly recommend these J-hooks, especially if you have the Fitness Reality 810 XLT power cage (which itself is an excellent product for the price). ... show more
