The humidor is to attach to lid....works great with no distilled water addded. When I added the water the magnet couldnt hold to the lid...after several tries the magnet came off the humidor. I think I looked at every humidor on Amazon (twice) before buying this. i loved the look and it was the size I needed. It's the best humidor I've had (this is #3) and was fast and easy to condition.
