I let my beloved old, real-wood adirondack chair go, as keeping it painted and repairing/replacing the wood rot year after year has become a challenge; am getting too old. I bought this chair because it should be maintenance free, aside from just cleaning it. The chair seems heavy enough to not be whipped around by stormy winds, yet it’s not so heavy that it’s hard to move. It took me less than 45 min to assemble…giving me a touch of summer on this cold January night. All tools are included in the kit, and the instructions are absolutely excellent. Winter temps in Ky range from below zero to 60, sometimes in the same week; I do wonder how this chair will withstand those temp swings. If it weathers well, I will be buying another, same brand, next year!

Let me start out by saying I did a good amount of research before pulling the trigger on these chairs. I’ve purchased both real wood and wood blend outdoor furniture, and both have their pros and cons. I eventually chose these chairs because how highly most reviews spoke of the customer service experience. I can speak directly to that as well: I received an email shortly after placing my order. The company sent me (unsolicitedly, mind you) a set of updated instructions because they received complaints that the ones that come with chairs weren’t clear enough (in reality they were fine). But the company took that feedback to heart and acted on it! Unheard of nowadays!! So that automatically endeared me to them. Now for the product itself; they’re very well constructed or a Trex decking like composite material, which seems pretty durable. They were super easy to put together (after the second chair it only took 5-10 min to assemble each of the others), and though I’m skeptical about the 400# rating, the chair barely creaks when I sit in it (and I’m a big guy). It’s extremely comfortable, though if you have shorter legs you may consider having/using a pillow behind you for support to easily get out of the chair as it’s pretty low to the ground. They’re beautifully textured and look like real wood from a distance. They are very well packaged to prevent shipping damage. As a bonus, the tools included in the kit are actually pretty darn good quality, unlike most of the other RTA furniture kits from China. Trust me…you’re gonna want to keep these! Everything about these to me scream quality. I’ve only had them a week but I’m extremely happy with them and optimistic about their survival in the Texas elements. The hope is they won’t fade in the brutal summer sun (fingers crossed). I will update this post in a few months and let you know how I feel about them. But for now, if you’re on the fence about pulling the trigger, climb on down and place your order. I’m pretty sure you won’t be disappointed.

The chairs are easy to assemble but does take some time. The chairs with the cup holders are easy to store as they fold up. The different colors are fun to see and the chairs are comfortable to sit in. It has rained a few times since setting them up on the outdoor pool deck but the water beads up quickly without getting absorbed like it would have if the chairs were made of wood. They clean up nicely and have a lovely luster to them.
