These Professional Scissors Actually Make a Huge Difference!!

I’m not a barber or stylist or anything close — I just cut my husband’s hair and sometimes the kids’ at home when we don’t feel like dealing with a salon. When I first saw the price on these YASAKA 6" scissors I’ll be honest, I figured I’d probably knock off a star because of what a regular person would actually have to pay for them. But I did some digging online beforehand, and once I got them and started using them, I completely understood the cost. These are made of Japanese steel for starters. This specific steel is extremely durable, resistant to corrosion, and holds an edge much longer than cheaper metals (aka will stay sharp much longer). They come with some surprisingly nice extras that I didn’t expect. There’s a little bottle of oil in this twist-up container with a brush on the end, it’s set up exactly like those makeup concealer pens I used to have years ago, so you just twist the top and the oil comes out on the brush. Super easy and mess-free to apply. There’s also a polishing cloth and this little keychain tool with nubs on it for adjusting the tension. I had no clue you were even supposed to oil scissors or tweak the tension! And here’s the oddly satisfying part: every turn on the tension adjuster gives a distinct little click. It’s weirdly fun to use. The scissors themselves are the real star though. If you’ve only ever used regular cheap scissors, these things are on a whole different level. They’re incredibly sharp with that convex edge, and they just glide through hair without pulling or catching. My husband’s haircuts look noticeably cleaner, and it takes me less time and effort. They feel like actual professional tools, not something you’d find in a drugstore. I ended up not taking that star off after all. If you regularly cut hair at home for your family and you’re tired of fighting with dull or mediocre scissors, these are worth it. They are definitely worth it if you are a professional! The build quality, the smooth cutting, and even the little maintenance accessories all show why they have that higher price tag. I’m genuinely impressed and glad I have them now. The box they come on is even cool.

A cut above the others

Got these for my wife to cut our kids hair. This has to be the first time my wife has cut the hair of all four of our kids without having to stop to resharpen the blades. On that note, the blades were sharp right out of the gate. Two haircuts later and they still haven't needed to be sharpened.

I absolutely love these scissors

Pro haircuts

I have been cutting my own hair for quite some time, so I wanted something that actually felt like professional shears instead of cheap drug store quality that I had been using. The scissors really make or break a haircut in terms of the finished professional look you want.
