I dont know if I got lucky picking out these scissors , but it's the first pair of hair scissors I've ever bought and I'm soooo happy with them. They are smooth they are adjustable. And the removable silicone finger bumpers are so comfortable. Never knew scissors could be comfy, quiet, smooth, and this sharp. Especially for the price. Hopfully they last awhile. I guess we will find out. It's the only thing I can see why they are so cheap compared to some others is because they rust or dull quickly. I don't use them all the time so I imagine they will last me a long time ... show more

I just received these, and already the little rubber rings broke. I guess for 10$ we shouldn't complain? But honestly, why are we accepting these "small" issues when we buy products just because they are a decent price? Shouldn't we get quality products no matter what the cost? Just a thought. I want to start by stating very clearly that I am not a trained professional hair dresser. By necessity, I have cut hair for my family for almost 25 years. This includes my husband, my three children (now adults or close to it), and even myself. So, while I don't know official technique and such, I do by now know when a pair of basic scissors cuts hair well and when they don't. I was noticing that the scissors I'd been using were getting dull because of the way they pulled. But it wasn't until I got this pair that I realized the ones I'd been using (a pair that came with a set of clippers) were actually not great in the first place! Comparatively, these are absolutely wonderful! The weight of the scissors is the first thing I noticed. These are much heavier than the scissors I'd been using, which I initially thought would be bad. I was wrong. These give me much more control when cutting hair and fit much more comfortably in my hand. The screw is also a big deal, as it allows me to make adjustments to the tightness of the scissors. The hair texture varies greatly from one family member to the next, and tension can make a big difference in how I am able to cut their hair well. Again, I'm NOT trained, so this might not be a "real" thing, but it works for me. Finally, the sharpness. These are sharper than any pair of hair cutting scissors I've ever used. They literally glide through the hair. Obviously, this means I have to be a little more careful (I have a nick between a couple of knuckles to prove that!), but it also makes for a much cleaner, smoother cut. It's also very helpful for my own hair, which is easily damaged and split. And in all honesty, these are cheaper than what I was going to pay to get a new pair of the scissors I'd been using -- the ones that came with the clippers! I call that a definite win. I like to have more than one pair of scissors on hand to make sure that there's a pair stored with the clippers and another pair accessible for quick touch-ups, so I will definitely be grabbing a second pair of these. And I'll never go back to what I was using. ... show more
