The media could not be loaded. This hardware cloth has been one of my best purchases for my backyard, and it has proven invaluable in multiple ways. Every summer, I plant various vegetables and grow them from seeds, but I used to struggle with birds and squirrels picking at the plants or even destroying them entirely. I also used this hardware cloth to build a chicken coop. The mesh is sturdy enough to protect my chickens from raccoons, possums, and feral cats. The durability of this mesh gives me peace of mind, knowing my chickens are safe, and it's also weather-resistant, so I don't have to worry about it deteriorating over time. Chicken wire keeps chickens in but easily breaks. I wrapped my chicken run in this and other hardware cloth. Easy to use but you’ll want to use an angle grinder or tin snips to make the final cuts. I recommend the 1/4” size openings because this will limit what can get into your chicken coop (stops mice, snakes, etc). ... show more

I have had a big problem with raccoons getting under my house and causing havoc. They were able to get through regular chicken wire and other barriers. I ordered the hardware cloth hoping this would keep them out for good. I put it around the foundation and anywhere they were able to get through. So far this has worked well to keep them out. This is heavy duty wire and a little hard to work with since it is stiffer than regular chicken wire. But the results were definitely worth it. I watched on security camera as the raccoons tried to get through the hardware cloth, and no matter how determined, they could not penetrate the wire. The description, "hardware cloth" is a little deceptive. This is definitely heavy-duty wire and in no way resembles cloth. It came packaged well and there was no damage throughout any of the rolls. I needed to make some pet proof interior screen doors for my place, that still allowed ventilation for evaporative coolers and the like. Local only had 3'x5' rolls. I needed some runs of about 7' so. Square and true. Isn't warped and runs at a slant or wavers/warps. The leading edge and both running sides end cleanly, no spikys. True to size, very even in spacing. Was a full 36" wide. It was very well wrapped two directions with a single retaining wire, and did the usual expand once the tension of the wrap wire was gone. If you cut that off carefully (it fastens at the center) you can get several feet of wire to reuse. As I cut, folded over one or two holes for a sight reinforcement, everything remained square. It is easily cut with a little patience with a 6" hand nipper. Once installed into frame and hung, it is straight, square, not overly pulling in tension against it's frame, and can take a 15# cat scaling it without a pause. (I have two terror purrsons that like to get into the houseplants and pop the screen in the ventilation exit room for the evaporative cooler, so I needed this project). Nice, bright, coated, and didn't turn my hands ugly grey (just a little, not a LOT) to work with it. Workable with hand tools (6" nippers, regular pliers). Would suggest for ventilation for rabbit hutches and chicken coops/moveable chicken tractors. NOT for flooring, that is too hard on the feet of the creatures. Stiff enough to span 3-4' width and several feet length. The remaining I am going to try this summer for an arched pergola gateway frame to grow clematis or morning glory on. Will update when I see how this weathers. ... show more
