The set is the beginning line for Yamaha and made of poplar, an excellent wood for tone. As I put new heads on, which is something I think everyone will need to do to be totally happy, the Drums came alive!. Snare Drum is snappy. Tom’s are full and get that punch a drum set requires these days. Tone is excellent as I compared to my maple set by DW. I applied 2 ply Evans for the batter head and with the low mil resonant head, the sound fell in place. I compared them to my DW kit and was impressed with the sound. I was very surprised that I would be able to get a $379 complete shell kit to sound anywhere near the quality of the maples by DW. Thank you very much! This is a beautiful, five piece drum set. Yamaha is, of course, a very good name for low priced drum sets. However, I fell for the pictures that showed a high hat and two other symbols in the grouping and did not bother to read the fine print that said that the other accessories were not included. I just won’t express my frustration at how annoying that really is. It’s hard to believe that a reputable company like Yamaha would stoop that low anyhow, it’s a nice drum set and even without the accessories it’s a very good price. ... show more

The drums feel high quality. Comes in one giant box. Some assembly (bass and floor tom) required and doesnt come with snare stand, kick pedal, or any cymbals/stands. The orange is real pretty in person

Very nice product even disregarding the low price for 5 well built poplar shells. Packed well for shipping too. I am looking forward to changing the heads and sounding even better but the stock heads are better than I expected. Years of musical fun and adventure here for sure.

The drums seem to be decent quality. I'm not a drummer and bought this set as a gift. What I found out after opening the box is that this is a "Shell Pack". On guitarcenter.com this item is clearly labeled as a shell pack. Here it is not. You have to click on the different pictures to come up with one that says cymbals and hardware not included. In my opinion you should receive what the first picture shows. In fact the pic that says cymbals and hardware not included show cymbals and hardware. This to me is a bit deceiving. And disappointing. The media could not be loaded. If ur wondering where r my cymbals they don’t come like it shows in the pic also plz don’t get fooled it says in the descriptions no hardware given and it sounds very nice and me and my brother who r really good really like it
