Was a little worried about shipping. But it came in a box inside a box with lots of bubble wrap and the guitar itself was inside a foam bag. Shipper was Chicago Music Exchange. I opted for the vintage tint model which is visually pleasing. I put it under a bright light and it is flawless. Took it to my local music store for inspection and it passed with flying colors. I was told it was a real nice guitar. I'm a 67 year old retired beginner, and just learning chords and strumming patterns, but I'm past the point of my fingers hurting and I now have callouses and grooves in my finger tips. I can't keep it out of my hands in my spare time. Stays in tune, but definitely get a tuner if you don't have one. Gonna learn to play if it kills me. If you look at the reviews on youtube you'll see this is one of the top models, if not THE top model, for under $250. Also bought the CAHAYA 41 Inch Acoustic Guitar Bag and the CAHAYA Guitar Stand Folding A frame, both fit perfectly. Very happy and highly recommend this guitar. ... show more

I’m 68 and Just getting started with the guitar. In retirement I want to keep learning and to keep my mind active. Sick and tired of crossword puzzles! This Yamaha FG800 is perfect for my needs and does not break the bank. Stays in tune and sounds great. Love the vintage tint. A beautiful guitar!

I rarely write any reviews. I was hesitant to buy a guitar online but i took a chance and im glad i did. I appreciate people involved into the packaging of the Guitar. Great efforts.     • Great Guitar for the Price
I bought this to take camping so as to avoid taking one of my high-end guitars, since it is likely to get beat up a bit and to experience a range of temperature and humidity. It has a good action and intonation, and a decent voice for the price (of course, not as nice compared with a high-end guitar, and a little on the treble side with less midrange than I'm used to). Construction seems good (straight neck, good tuners, etc.). Inexpensive guitars like this one have really improved over the years, especially compared with the old Stella that I learned on as a kid. This guitar would be a great choice for a student or (like in my case) someone who wants a decent guitar at a reasonable price to be used in challenging environments. ... show more

Beautiful sound and aesthetics... I’m a beginner who has been a beginner for almost 40 years. This feels like the one! It arrived early the shipping was extremely fast and it was well packed. Initially I was disappointed it did not come bundled with a case, but now I’m so glad that it did not.
