I liked this table, it was a good height as I find most coffee tables to be too low. It is sturdy and easy to assemble. Felt similar to setting up something from Ikea to be honest. The only thing I didn't like was opening the top and closing it requires two hands and a clear top. It wobbles a bit while opening so one side usually opens faster then the other side so anything on top is going to slide right off. If you use two hands on either side you can probably avoid this. But for my short stubby body I have to stand up and bend over to lift it each time so I find myself not really using that feature very often. Sounds great to be able to store something inside of it. But I think in the future I might just buy something with drawers and skip that lift top feature.

I have a 2nd smaller living room that I have a small love seat as the "couch" so everything is smaller in size. I had searched around for a lift top coffee table for a while and found that the really expensive versions online and at local furniture stores had tops that lifted far too high and would not be a comfortable sitting situation for eating or using my laptop while seated, at least for my love seats sitting height. Because I am OCD I always research things to the point I'm exhausted and many times decide after days/weeks of research that I probably don't need a particular item. I knew I wanted something for this room so I continued my research. I found this exact same table at another online vendor, they even used the same pictures as this vendor on Amazon, at double the price. I had almost ordered it from that vendor before I decided to try and see what Amazon had to offer. Initially I was hesitant because I thought perhaps the other vendor had a different manufacturer and possibly a better quality...but again, same pictures used on both sites. Granted, they did "technically" show a different manufacturers name but at this point I am thinking they are using the "middle mans" name instead of the actual manufacturers name. For those reviewers that complain the table is hard to put together and the directions are confusing....again, I am OCD.....but I laid all the parts out and marked them with sticky notes to make absolutely sure I didn't mess anything up. For the first part where the two smaller sides attach I did initially put them on the wrong direction.....but on the next step I realized that quickly after looking at the picture. So, solution for me was to go to the next step each time to look at the picture of what was coming up next to make sure I did the prior connections correctly. Upon taking that extra step it all went very smoothly. For those that say the holes did not line up, that is true if you don't follow the directions correctly and perhaps a part is on in the wrong direction. Like another reviewer I was able to complete the assembly of the whole table with no help whatsoever and in under 1.5 hours (I'm 57 year old woman). When it came to installing the top part with the springs I used couch cushions to hold the top in place while I installed the screws. The only minor challenge I encountered was installing one of the screws to hold the spring in place. The first spring I was able to lower it and it stayed while I installed said screw. With that confidence in mind I lowered the second spring but when I lightly touched it to install the screw in place that spring slammed back up by itself and cut my finger......lesson learned....be careful and trust nothing....kinda like people....LOL Now that the table is put together the springs work perfectly due to the weight of the table top. One reviewer said to use a drill to install....for me I felt that was not a wise choice. With press board materials one can over tighten any of those locking nuts and cause it to "wallow" out, for a lack of verbiage. It takes just a few seconds longer to do it manually but you can feel when it is tight and then you know it's time to stop turning. With a drill you may over tighten and then you can't fix that mistake. For those reviewers that talk about how cheap the material is and how it easily breaks.....and some even put pictures showing the ripped out portions of the materials. The material is fine/good......but when you're installing this type of product that is not "real" wood....but actually a press board, which is perfectly fine if you treat it right.....you have to get it right, turn the screw to lock it in place......but if you then twist the material after that locking head is in place.....then you're going to rip the material....so it's not really the materials fault as much as the installation process used. I'm sure the nay sayers of this table can find fault in anything they purchase.....especially if they are not doing something within the products capabilities. For me, this table was a lot of bang for the buck and I love it. If someone is seeking perfection, solid wood, top of the line then perhaps you need to go pay 10 times the price for another table. However, if you are capable of taking the time to put this table together correctly after thinking it through carefully...then you will end up with a nice piece of furniture that will work great for many years to come.

I bought this table as a gift and was very surprised when a received the call about the damage. They like the table so they will keep it. The table is nice and fits great. The package was wet in the corner. Once the table was put together there is a cracked corner as seen in photo.

First, the directions were only pictures. These directions were very similar to IKEA's directions. But once I got through that, I managed to get the table together with the help of a friend. Once together, it comes up high enough for me to work comfortably sitting on my couch. I have kept my books on the inside and some activities I enjoy doing. When you lift the top, I use two hands so that it comes up evenly.

I needed a new coffee table and this one, having the ability to raise it to accommodate my laptop, was a great fit. Couldn't beat the price, as it was on clearance. I think the directions only showing pictures, instead of text, made the assembly much easier for me, than other furniture I've assembled in the past. I assembled it by myself, which wasn't too difficult (about 2 hours), except the last step. Trying to hold up the lid and align the screws for the hinges at the same time as screwing the screws in, was the hardest part. I'm sure that's why they suggest having 2 people to assemble it. I'm a 65 year old woman and not very coordinated or patient, so if I can do it, so can you. :)

Love the design. Super useful. The top layer of the fake wood has chipped a bit. And the panels have started to pull apart a bit. But in good condition. The pull out mechanism has remained stiff so you have to be gentle and guide it or the table top will jerk and everything will fly off the table top.

This table came damaged the first time I ordered it, due to shipping issues (not the seller's fault). Despite this issue, what you are getting here is a solid piece of furniture. This is a very sturdy coffee table and I highly recommend getting this for your living room. It's very modern and has a lot of storage to put your controllers, books, etc. When you do assemble this, PLEASE have another person help. Do not attempt doing this by yourself as you can possibly damage some screws that are screwed in. I would love to buy another table like this for my basement!
