These worked great for the fence we built. If you have to take them out multiple times or reuse them just be aware that they may break. The metal isn’t the thickest on the bottom so it can bend easily. Our fence has been up for about 6 months and is holding very well though. For the price I would definitely buy these again even though they are a little thin. You can buy a 1 pack from Lowe’s that is wayyy thicker but it’s $25 just for 1. The value for the price makes me want to definitely buy them again for our next project we will be starting again soon. 4x4 pieces of wood fit snug inside them. We used a smaller piece of wood to pound it into the ground before putting our actual long 4x4 in there. It made it way easier to put it into the ground.

Using these to build a garden fence. They work great! My 4X4 posts are just over 5 feet tall so the 18-inch depth of the post holder is perfect. Since the wooden post does not have to be buried in the ground, I do not require additional length of post that setting in quickcrete or cement would require. No cement needed and no additional time required for set up. Pound the holder in the ground and stick your post in the holder and you are done! The only trick is to make sure that the holder is straight when putting in the ground.

These stakes are solid as a rock! They are heavily coated and I have no concerns about rust in anyway. 4x4 post fit perfectly and are then tightened to firmly hold them. These things are thick and heavy. We’ve driven them into hard clay without a hint of give. No bending at all. They are expensive but the time and labor to dig holes makes up for the cost IMO. One more thing, you better have a big mall to drive them in!
