I bought this tool to create 18 potting holes for a landscaping project. It really made the project easy. The attachment really breaks up the soil and actually went through roots. I would not recommend in rocky soil or major roots (like tree roots) because it can hang and create a situation where you wrench your back. I bought to plant bushes. Does a great job when you don’t have grass to go though. When using in grass, the grass roots clogs up the tip. After getting though the grass roots does great great. I take a shovel and cut the grass before using the augar. Then I keep pulling it out to get the dirt away. The tip could be a little longer to help keep the augar from walking. ... show more
