  • Not for the him, but her.
The media could not be loaded. Resistance is not strong enough for a full grown man, but adequate for a woman. Assembly went well, packaging great. Made in China

  • Not bad for the money, but gotta be the worst instructions ever
I am trying to maintain my cardio, which definitely gets harder when you're sick at a desk for 3-4 hours straight. I got a great deal on the machine, but omg it must have the worst instruction manual I've ever seen. There's literally 2 pictures, with as many as 18 parts going together. Extremely hard to follow, and I should mention I've put together 5 separate bench press machines in my time, one with pulley attachment. It took me 2 1/2 hours to put together, when it should've taken 30 minutes, tops. So far it works okay, though even at its highest setting you're not going to feel much resistance. I'm by no means a triathlete, but the resistance is pretty negligible. It is a good value for what I paid ($160). ... show more

  • Not the best and not the worst
Easy enough to put together. (Female, 33 yr old and did it myself in about 30-45 mins with 3 kids "helping") Pretty sturdy for the most part, definitely would not use if you are over 250 lbs. I'm 150lbs not completely out of shape but thanks to covid closing down the gym I gained 20 lbs not mention I have a health condition that is making it harder to exercise. My husband is a very strong athletic man, this machine doesn't do much for him even on its highest setting. I would suggest this for those of you that are beginning to shape up. But the pull is probably no more than about 30/40 pounds best. It's not loud. And it comes with a one year warranty through the manufacturer for parts. I bought the extra warranty for 25$. Why not? Plan on using it for at least 2 years to try and stay in shape. Over all gave it 4 stars cause it's not the best but for the money it's acceptable. ... show more

  • Overall Good Value
Pretty Good overall. The unit is solid and feels well designed. The unit assembles easily enough, they provide decent assembly instructions. I was a little dismayed at first, one of the sub-assemblies was actually missing - specifically, the arm the foot pads attach to wasn't present in the box. The good news is that their customer service was excellent - a real person answered the phone, I told them the part that was missing (using the part numbers from the instructions). He knew exactly what I was talking about, and had an order confirmation for shipping me the part in my inbox inside an hour. A little bonus was that Amazon had registered my customer details into the Xterra Fitness system - my warranty was already in place. The unit rows smoothly, and its pretty quiet. I work out in the morning, in the basement, before my wife wakes up. She says she cant hear a thing, sleeps right thru my workout. I cant complain about the motion - its not as seamless as a higher dollar rower, but its definitely a good fluid motion overall. My only real gripes (which are covered in other reviews) is that 1. the resistance is a bit low, even at the highest setting. It takes me a good 10 minutes to break a sweat. Maybe 20+ min before Im hitting a real burn. But, Im 6'1, and primarily lift weights, so I probably generate a bit more force than the average user. All in all, a rower is for cardio, not strength training - so I suppose Im getting picky. Gripe 2 is the computer. I wish it was able to calculate distance. It shows strokes, time, and a generic calorie counter. I kinda wish it was able to do distance too, as I dont think it calculates the calories piece accurately - the numbers seem very optimistic in my experience. Again, Im probably being picky since time under tension/elevated hearbeat is probably more important than distance anyway. More resistance and a better computer would get it to 5 stars. For a budget rower, it does exactly what it says it does, which is nice. Whats more important is that for a budget rower, the construction is probably better than I expected. ... show more

  • Good for the Price
Love this little machine, especially for the price. It's a great, overall workout for both me and my wife.

  • Pretty good after 1 week
Overall, pretty good so far. It doesn't feel flimsy or weak. Removing the pin for folding takes some work, but I'd rather have that than it be flimsy. The highest resistance is not that high, but it doesn't have to be if you are going for more than 15 - 20 minutes. I've been doing 25-30 minutes and I move between the highest and the middle settings. The computer thing is disappointing but I wasn't expecting anything much from it anyway. The only number I trust is the time elapsed. Calories, distance, etc. are very broad swags that I consider meaningless. The display is not bright and I can not read it unless there is a bright light above me. Also, I can't get the mount tight enough so every time I bump it the dang thing falls over. If I wind up ripping the thing off one day it will be no big loss. The unit is quiet enough to watch tv or listen to a podcast. There is some squeaking from the foot peddles, but that's about it. Update: after 3 weeks of nearly daily use, one of the bearings in the seat assemble seems rough. I contacted the manufacturer and they are sending replacements, thank you Devonnia. Update 2: 5 months in and approximately 58 hours operation. The strap is wearing on one side. Can service please send a replacement? ... show more
