This is a very cool watch for kids
Color: Black Style: Kidzi on T-Mobile's Network
To start, this watch is very cool, I love the color, I love the size, I love the functionality. The technology is interesting it's a little bit more limited so it's meant for kids to not have all the ability to do whatever they want with the watch. Limited who you can call and text. But it's also limited on the service. I put a T-Mobile card in there and it worked but it didn't work all the time. I think they want to force you to use their SIM card but I don't really feel like paying extra for that. It definitely worked with T-Mobile but I feel like it's not meant for it. This is definitely meant for younger kids where you can have more rules that are allowed for the watch. The screen isn't as bad as I thought it would be it's actually clearer then I was expecting. The setup is pretty easy, instructions aren't terrible. This thing is extremely portable since it's a watch and it's a little bit easier for a kid to use and much harder to lose. The notifications on it are pretty good and I'm very impressed with how inexpensive it is for this type of thing, I've seen much more expensive kids watches. Overall I definitely recommend this and I do feel that my child is more safe having a way to contact me in an emergency. ... show more

Good idea, but too many limitations
Color: Blue Style: Kidzi on T-Mobile's Network
I wanted to like this watch because it is a nice option for keeping a child connected without giving them a regular phone. In actual use, the calling and tracking features work, and the watch is comfortable enough for a child to wear throughout the day. It has a simple, kid-friendly appearance and doesn’t look overly bulky on the wrist. The silicone band is soft, secure and practical for everyday activities, and the watch feels sturdy enough to handle normal active use. However, the functionality is much more limited than I expected. Calls are restricted to approved contacts, there is no regular SMS, and communication depends heavily on the companion app. The tracking works through the cellular data connection, but the watch does not work with other SIM cards, which makes it much less flexible. The app also took some time to figure out and doesn’t feel as straightforward as it should. Another major downside is the ongoing monthly service charge. Considering the watch itself isn’t inexpensive, I was surprised to find that a separate monthly plan is required, and the actual cost is considerably higher than the low monthly price suggested in the listing. So while the basic functions do work and the watch looks nice and feels comfortable and durable enough for kids, the restrictions and additional subscription cost make it difficult for me to give it more than three stars. ... show more

Good Value, Solid Features, and Better Parental Controls
Color: Pink Style: Kidzi on T-Mobile's Network
I think this is a really solid kids smartwatch for the price. When I compare it with much more expensive options, it gives you a lot of the same basic functionality without making me quite as nervous about putting an expensive device on a younger child who could lose it or damage it. We have even had connectivity hiccups with Apple Watches before, so I do not expect any cellular watch to be perfect all the time. So far, this one has handled voice calls and messages about as well as I would expect from a connected watch in this category. One of my favorite features is the ability to control who can call or message the watch. Kids are pretty good at finding ways around technology, so I appreciate having more restrictions built into something designed specifically for them. The watch itself feels well made, the interface is straightforward, and it gives us the communication features we actually wanted without a lot of unnecessary extras. It is also important to understand that this is a cellular device, so a service subscription is required for the connected features to work. That cost is going to depend on the plan you choose, so I look at that separately from the quality of the watch itself. Judging the hardware and features on their own, I think this is a very good value and a practical alternative to putting a much more expensive smartwatch on a young child. The battery seems to last a lot longer than other watches weve had as well. ... show more

Price is misleading
Color: Pink Style: Kidzi on T-Mobile's Network
The watch works decently. The ad is wrong though the price is actually $25 per month not what was advertised. The app works although the safe zone alerts are delayed. Thankfully I was able to use my own tmobile sim card with no issues so no monthly fee needed for me. The texting is only within the app which I dislike but I understand it's needed. Also the kid cannot change the text prompts which I wish you could. ... show more

Cell Plan Required for use
Color: Black Style: Kidzi on T-Mobile's Network
If you don't get a cell phone plan, you can't even use this for telling time. The build of the watch seems ok, but you'll spend more on a year's worth of cell plan than the cost of the watch. Battery life is ok and it seems average in every other way. Personally, I'd spend more on a watch that didn't require a cell plan and would have liked if it at least told time and counted my steps without a cell plan. ... show more

Great Budget Smartwatch with Excellent Parental Controls and Tracking
Color: Black Style: Kidzi on T-Mobile's Network
The watch worked really well right out of the box. Once I added it to my cellular plan, I was easily able to track my son's location and exchange messages with him. He noticed that it runs smoothly with certain apps, though there are a few others that either aren't compatible or that I haven't figured out how to install yet. So far, it holds a charge impressively well and gets great signal. It feels like an incredibly economical choice, especially for a watch that handles phone calls, making it much more affordable than the bigger name brands. My son loves it because he likes the larger design and enjoys being able to message me and the rest of our family. As a parent, I love the built-in parental controls and GPS location tracking. I would definitely recommend it as a budget-friendly option for children, especially since kids can be rough on their belongings and don't always have the best track record for taking care of things. I paired it with a screen protector, and it has been holding up beautifully. ... show more

Cool way to keep track and call your kid, but very very locked down.
Color: Black Style: Kidzi on T-Mobile's Network
This is a great concept, but sadly seems a bit too locked down and under baked to me. For starters, this will only accept calls from numbers in your phone book. So in case of emergency, you can't reach your child from a different phone. It also has zero sms capability, which is fine, but uses a data connection to do the tracking and communicate with the app. The pros are that it has excellent control if you want to prevent your kid from having an actual PHONE. You can't call anyone that isn't already in the phone book. There is no SMS at all, but you can communicate with the app which needs to be installed on anyone's smartphone who will communicate with the child. That makes it a little bit more difficult to use, especially for grandparents who like the idea of keeping in touch. They are more likely to communicate with a standard like sms than they are to install this app and make an account. The app itself is kind of difficult to use as well, and it wasn't immediately obvious how to add numbers to the phone book. It seems like you have to enter them manually on the watch, which is wild to me because shouldn't the whole point be it is parental control only available from the app? Why would you allow the watch to add contacts only? I tried to ask help / support about it, and got some very canned AI responses (see screenshot) which didn't make me feel like this was well planned out either. Essentially, it DOES work, and uses the T-mobile network so it will work with anything that uses those towers. But I actually much preferred some of the other options out there, such as a similar watch from Easyphone, which allowed my son to dial numbers if he needed to as well as receive texts (although he could not send anything other than pre-designated messages, which can be set up in the app). If you want something much more locked down for safety, I guess this is a good option but I feel like you need to have a more polished product for that kind of lockdown. For the money, I think I'd rather stick to a different phone watch. The size and battery are about what is to be expected, and it's definitely not bad. I just know there are better options. ... show more
