  • Not waterproof
Size: 7.5 Color: Gray/Sky Blue
XPETI Thermo mid high women's is not waterproof, my bottom of my feet have become soaked from walking in puddles and I can't figure out how the water is getting in. I tried contacting seller but there is only a chat with email. Has excellent tread with a material that even does well on ice. My trails are rough. Up down, snow still a good 12 inches in many spots, rocky, roots, and extreme muddy, deep puddles... tread through it all.. used on ice as well. Not a summer boot. Has upwards movement that aids walking along up slants or flat. But not down hill unless in snow, then snow compensates. For trip down a mountain, loosen top so you can lift up for well in order to strike heel fully first. The first couple uses my feet stayed very warm and dry but then something must have loosened her somewhere and they get soaked in the bottoms . I do go through a lot of Puddles but still . I do not submers the boots . I have small feet around, fairly wide forefront, small heel, so do have to tie tight... thick socks, but heels stay in, not too much play in bed of foot on uneven slushy snow. Could NOT even begin to adjust Keen or Columbia enough, had to send back, and their tread was horrible on ice, and not enough for grip on snow or mud. These were excellent though... will update if any issues.( I did they were not waterproof after a few uses and I cannot contact seller without providing email and becoming part of some list) ... show more

  • Ridiculously good for the price
Size: 7.5 Color: Black
I have used these boots for two seasons of winter hiking and now spring season. They are amazingly good at repelling water/mud/snow, and the soles have held up well so far. They are pretty grippy on wet surfaces. I went a full size up from my normal size, they do seem to run small. These plus a thin pair of wool socks have been fairly comfortable down to about 5-10 F. Below that I have noticed my feet get a little cold. They're great for the price. ... show more

  • Excellent medium-budget but high quality hiking boot
Size: 11 Color: Black
I bought these for a week-long trip to Iceland filled with lots of hiking. I didn't want to drop a fortune on hiking boots since I didn't plan on using them after, but at the same time I didn't want to cheap out and be uncomfortable the whole time. This seemed like a happy medium. Well, these worked out perfectly!! They are so comfortable and the ankle support felt really secure. They are clunky, but it is kind of to be expected with such a rugged winter hiking boot. They kept my feet warm and provided good traction. The only thing is, these run very small. I usually wear a size 9 or 10, so I sized up and went with the 10. Ultimately I ended up having to size up to 11. If you're in between sizes, I'd recommend going up a full size past the upper end of what you normally wear. ... show more

  • Comfortable
Size: 7.5 Color: Black
I like that the boot is very comfortable. I use them for hiking every Sunday. They are a little heavier than what I’m use to but I still would recommend this boot for anyone looking for a comfortable hiking boot.

  • Order one size bigger
Size: 8.5 Color: Gray/Sky Blue
I wear size 8 and ordered 8:5 I worn it for one hiking, it was great as far as water protection and it was not slippery. But it was a bit small and bothered me so I returned and got size 9. Btw it looks great

  • Very light weight
Size: 10 Color: White
I bought this set of boots for snowshoeing up Mt. Baker. They are very light weight. Plenty of padding in the souls and very comfortable to wear in general. I will make sure that I wear long socks on my hike but there is minimal rubbing on the rear of my calf. I am breaking them in for about 2 weeks and will keep you updated on the other aspects of the boot. I typically wear a 9 but ordered a 10. I do have a decent amount of toe room. I could have gotten away with a 9.5 but I think the 10 will work out best with socks and gear. ... show more

  • Runs narrow
Size: 8.5 Color: Camouflage
Ordered a half size larger than normal. 8.5 I don't think going up another half size will help. I have a high instep and I found these to run little narrow but I have wide feet. I would not be able to put on a heavy hiking sock due to the fit. Otherwise they are fantastic! Very well made boot. Wide width would be much better. I.m on the fence to return them because they are very nice boot laces could be much longer too. I barely had enough lace to tie. If I keep them I'll upgrade the laces. Great ankle support. Update: I did return the boots. I tried them on barefoot and my toes were touching the end of the boot. ... show more

  • Fits great
Size: 9 Color: White
I have such a hard time finding boots that fit. I nomally wear 9. The reviews suggested buying half a size up, but 9.5s are usually too long for me and i end up tripping over my toes. The 9's are snug, but the length is right on and the insole seems adequate for my high arches. The laces will accomodate my fat calves, although i will need to wear ankle gators or tie bandanas around the tops to keep snow from getting inside if I anticipate deep snow. I'm wearing regular wool socks so the promised thermal insulation of the boot should keep my feet warm. Hopefully the tightness of the boot doesnt interfere with warmth. If I add a second pair or plan on wearing thicker socks, i think the boot will be too snug, (but should be able to loosen the laces to make it work. I think these boots are going to be perfect for snowshoeing:.narrow like hiking boots, over the ankle for support and to keep snowshow strap from biting my tendons. ... show more
