This thing surprised me. It’s light enough that it doesn’t feel like you’re hauling anything extra, but once you cinch it to the tree it locks in tight. No wobble, no flex. The grip on the platform is excellent, even with wet or muddy boots, and the angle adjustment is actually useful not just a “feature” they slapped on. Paired with sticks and saddle. Go in light and hopefully come out heavy. XOP makes the nicest product's for build quality value for money. They can’t be beat. All of my tree hunting gear is XOP. First time using it and it was fantastic. The sticks, saddle and this platform all attached to a simple hunting pack. Making for a light weight system. Platform is sturdy and secure be sure to get a good cam and side shots shouldn’t be a problem. Some side shots are more difficult so a good strong cam of platform on proper diameter tree is fundamental. Really enjoy using this system. ... show more

Great platform. I also purchased the XOP receiver to slide it into to make setting up faster. I weight 250lbs and have size 15 boots. I have no room issues with the platform and have room to stand on it and run around for a back shot if need be. It fits great in my pack. I did swap out of the original straps and went with the heavy duty straps (see another review I wrote about those). Using this platform with the receiver was a "must do" upgrade. It ensures that you always get the platform on straight (side to side) and can then focus on your adjusting screw to help level out with the tree which is a fantastic feature of this platform. ... show more

My favorite saddle platform. It’s light, easy to setup, quiet, and bites hard into the tree. There is a light learning curve with how it sits but once you practice that a few times you will be great!
