  • Its a Flagship
Bought this cause my system couldn't keep up with some newer games and happened to catch this on sale from Amazon for "MSRP". Not much to say other than it's a flagship and performs like a flagship. Basically matches my friend's 3090 in most games and even beats it in a few. Not very power hungry at all compared to the competition at about 280W max. Stays fairly cool and quiet with decent ventilation (do not put this in a non-airflow case). Mine personally boosts up to 2550Mhz which is a nice bonus. This card is HUGE though. I managed to fit in in a Meshify C Mini (don't ask) and it's been fine but I'll be upgrading to a much bigger case soon. Your chances of fitting this in other compact mid tower cases is dubious at best and even I had to remove a front intake fan to accommodate it. Goes without saying but you will want to run two dedicated 8-pin power cables to this thing. It doesn't consume a ton of power in my system but 280W+ is a lot going through one of those single cables with two connectors and some power supplies might not be happy with you. ... show more

  • Amazing card. But I bought it at a stupid price.
I bought this at the worst time. I had been plodding along with a GTX970, and was desperate for an upgrade. So I said "ah whatever" and got this beast. It is a beast. I'm very happy with it. I'm a Linux gamer and the default drivers work really well. No hassle like nVidia. AMD did the right thing by cooperating with the Linux community. ... show more

  • Surprisingly good, 5%-8% better than reference model.
It is expensive. Let us get that out of the way. The MSRP on these is much higher than the Reference model. That said, you get at least a 5% improvement uplift out of the box for that compared to the reference. Let's talk about noise. The fans don't spin, and it is silent on the desktop or watching videos. It is quieter than my 2080 was in games, but it can be even more silent if you use the AMD software and pick undervolt preset. Undervolt gives a -1% to +1% improvement in FPS. Possibly in the margin of error. But it reduces the power used by the card by ~10% at full load vs. stock. Less power, less heat, less fan spin. Nice quiet gaming. (~0.5% improvement consistently in 3dmark - Timespy Extreme test, within the margin of error.) Ok, so what about overclocking? With *rage* mode enabled using AMD Software, it is the same as my 2080 was stock. Still quieter than expected. That gives a ~2%-4% increase in FPS (BFV). I don't know about manual overclocking; I just used the presets. ( ~1.5% improvement in 3dmark time spy extreme test. Above margin of error.) SIZE: This must be mentioned. This barely fit in my case with my front-mounted radiator. I am talking less than 4MM of clearance. Make sure to measure before you buy. I didn't and got lucky. My case is just a bit smaller than average, and if I didn't have a front radiator, I would have had no problems. Overall if you can find it sold from Amazon directly or a third party selling it for the same price, I think it is worth the extra cost. Yes, it is a LOT more than the Stock MSRP card's price. But you do get excellent build quality and a strong performance lift for that price. DOWNSIDE: The biggest downside to going with this card over, say a 3090 I saw, is re-learning the software. AMD has entirely different software than I am used to. That said, I have gotten used to it and actually am starting to prefer it. ... show more

  • Constant Crashes for almost $2000 spent..
I've been getting a grey screen with blue lines intermittently while running a game. Sometimes it occurs on startup of the game, and sometimes I am able to play for 30min-45 min before this happens. I had high hopes for AMD - coming from a 2080 that I've been running with ZERO issues. System Specs: Ryzen 9 3900x ASUS ROG X570 Crosshair VIII Hero (Wifi) Corsair 32GB Dominator CL16 (4x8GB) MP600 NVME 1TB Corsair HX1200I PSU Samsung Odyssey G9 GPU installed with the following procedures: Disabled Fast Boot Ran sfc /scannow on command prompt to clear corrupt system files Removed overclocks on PC Ran AMD Cleanup Utility in safe mode Ran DDU in safe mode to clear prior Intel, AMD, Nvidia Drivers Installed AMD Adrenaline 21.6.1 - and configured it in standard mode Odyssey G9 Drivers manually installed I ordered two XFX 6900XT Mercs and the second one will arrive on 09/07/21. HOPEFULLY the current one that I have is a dud. Will update review pending tests with the second GPU. Edit: I had forgotten to update the review as of 02/04/22. So I was so fed up with trouble shooting this card that by the time that the second one arrived I sent both back, not wanting to take any risks. Purchased an Evga 3090 ftw3 that I managed to win on the newegg shuffle and haven't had any issues with that card at all. ... show more

  • Product meets expectations in the current market
Clearly msrp for this card is absurd, but for enthusiasts willing to pay the price, the card performs as well as you'd expect

  • Good Graphics Card for Gaming
I ordered this graphics card as I was upgrading my PC. Before this, I was using a zotac 1600 graphics card. The performance of this graphics processing unit was significantly better than the one I was using before. I was able to increase my frames per second while experiencing less lagging. However, I will be honest in saying that I did expect more from this graphics card. Obviously it is difficult to pinpoint the graphics card as the source of a problem but I was not able to raise my Frames per second as high as I expected. The graphics card does make a lot of noise so that could be a problem depending on your situation. Overall, for the price, I think this is a good option for a graphics card but you can definitely find something better for the price. ... show more

  • Amazing Card with solid performance and amazing acoustics
"upgrades" from an rtx 3090 to the 6900xt, and it has solid performance on 1440p and 4K gaming, driving my 240hz monitor smoothly without any skipped frames. I honestly find it offering smoother gameplay with higher fps compared to the 3090. It also runs very cool and quiet, with the fans rarely ever hitting 45%. The xfx card is also rated as one of the best and most solid 6900xt variant. I'd recommend it for high end gaming builds ... show more
