As others have mentioned, the instructions are weird but you can find videos online. I used this to tune the sides of my skis and it seemed very efficient for that. I'm still not sure if I can use the file on the bottom of the edges and I was too chicken to try. The gummy stone was good for removing rust. I haven't needed the PTEX but it's nice to have it around in case I scratch my bases. ... show more

I’m cheap and have a lot of time so we sharpened our boards at home this season. It’s easy to use if you read the instructions (which I highly recommend). I think this is a better value than all of the edge sharpening kits on Amazon.

    • Probably good for minor repairs
Didn’t work great for my skis, which were admittedly in rough shape. The little abrasive pad did take the rust off well, but could’ve been a bit bigger. Expect the file would work better on skis already in decent shape. Isn’t gunna fix big issues.

    • Erases edge rust
My crows had some rust around the edge from some melted snow that had pooled up in the ski bag. The gummy stone took it all right off in about 60 seconds.
